It’s been a busy day with the wife gone. Had my doctors appt this morning 2 hours away. Came back and shoveled horse crap (I hate horses), got the doe that’s been chilling into the freezer, vacuumed the quilt of dog hair off the floor and now I’m taking a break.

I am going to go out this afternoon after all. It’s gonna be hot but I have room in the fridge again. :tu:

Back in my bear spot. Checked cams earlier and there was nothing here last night, can't imagine they'd stay out 2 nights in a row.....typically here every evening. Betting on black tonight.

Lone doe feeding away from me down logging road. Sounds like there is more moving around upwind. Buck only tonight.[IMG]

I’m set up and ready. The wind is opposite what it was when I shot the doe. Normally I wouldn’t come here with this wind but I know the bucks come the other way in the afternoon.

Besides, there isn’t a safe wind for this spot. They can come from anywhere.

    it’s gonna be warm though.

The hills here make it so difficult to hunt the wind. Seems like it comes from any and all directions.

I definitely know what you’re talking about. Hills are all we have here in the Ozarks.

I would guess I have about a 90% chance of at least one doe winding me this sit.

At least I have a fairly steady wind instead of “light and variable”, which I despise.

I love it when it’s dry and crunchy in the woods. You can hear them moving long before they come into view.

Oh guys! Make me laugh, hubby had some subs that were in his office," wife got an opener doe this morning" after I had checked in with him.
First response "Awh man now you'll have to go home and process a deer after working all day."
He just laughed and said she'll have it completed within the next 2hrs chilling in frig when I get home...They were all dumbfounded..LOL

That's the same situation in the hollow where I hunt. Regardless of the forcasted wind direction, it blows from every direction imaginable and changes regularly. At least I'm 15' up in my LW this season.

Sure would be nice....I'm not gonna be quite as picky this year though. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

Well went by the urban spot to just check it out. Haven't been back since i shot that doe. There was already a fawn walking around the backyard. Looks like the deer are still in there. Might try and sit tomorrow evening to take one more doe out of there.

Then back to buck hunting. Dont know, may change my mind tomorrow and just go back after a buck, haha!
