I actually listened to it getting ready this morning. It got me a little pumped up.

    I’m set up now.

Went to bed at 9:00 last night and got 7 hours of sleep. Woke up feeling like a new man.

Walked into the bathroom, turned the light on and looked in the mirror, and nope! Same old man staring back at me. Dang it.

Good for you, that was the biggest change I made that led to putting some antlers on the wall, It's been so damn hot here. This weekend I will have my camera in the tree with me. I do have an interesting situation on the edge of a field.

I left this tree that fell and put a mock scrape under the branch, we will see what happens.

I would try to go into the drainage and sneak in without bumping him, but if you did bump him and it worked to his favor it’s likely he will do the same thing again bc it’s a proven safe exit for that buck. Just don’t want you to bump em and booger him outa there for a while, but then again it could work. Decisions decisions.

Back at the house. Nothing moved there this morning. I left everything in the tree and I’ll go back there in the morning. Something will walk by eventually, but if I don’t see anything tomorrow morning I’m gonna start bouncing around.

Deer must be bedding early because my dad and I didn’t see any deer this morning either.

Played hooky today, spent the morning with the family and am about to head south for a day of scouting and moving cameras, hoping to find some good sign to hunt tonight

That is exactly what is going around in my head.

I have made one decision, that is not to try it today. Almost zero wind today, that makes hunting around swamps really bad. Tomorrow is the better day with 5-10 mph. Thats perfect.

Also to add to the situation. If the deer bedded up closer to field was him, and i dont bump him. Probably a slim chance he would come down to the swamp, and more likely head to the field. If it wasnt him in that bed, then wouldn't matter if i bumped that deer or not. Of course he could just keep running for a mile.

So my mind is saying, do the exact same thing and bump that deer. At least i know where it goes. Then setup hopefully for same return as other night, but this time i will be able to shoot both top and bottom of the drainage. Thermals is the only thing that potentially can hurt me. But wont know til i get in there. Alot of cold water(river) right beside where that buck came out, so my scent should be pulled right into it and miss the buck.
