That’s discouraging. They must have changed food sources.

Couldn't sit still to hunt today. Scouted. This is the same place.I came a couple weeks ago and found some big scrapes, but had to leave early because of the rain and fog. Big boy in here.

I think being that close, the wind wouldn't effect an arrow/bolt enough to make the difference in a killing shot. JMO

    work....

It always amazes me when I walk miles in the woods and then find big buck sign stacked in like a small 2 to 3 acre area.

Most articles say 20 and below no. Above 20 yes. Also combo of head and shaft configuration makes a difference

Nothing for me, lots of deer feeding in the fields on the way home.

It’s late in the game, I like his odds of making it. Even if he leaves the prop I hunt, someone will get a older buck.

He just doesn’t have the mass yet. He’ll be good one next year for sure.

Part of the reason they get big is their ability to find a sanctuary where the can live undisturbed. I've always thought that the best time to kill them is the first time you find that sanctuary.

If I can get my butt together tomorrow.I've got to head in and hunt a peninsula for the first time this year. I don't know if anybody else has hunted it.But if they haven't, I may have some good action.

Getting 3-5" of snow currently, about the same or a little more coming Saturday. Sure wish I could access that site before hunting it, might be mostly melted by the time I get to hunt it a week from tomorrow.

Could actually hunt it next Thursday evening, but would have to go without showering with sunset so early. Unless I went in after dark after work Tuesday and tried to hang a stand and let it sit 2 days before hunting it.

Anyone ever hung a stand after dark or think it would muck it up too much trying to go in blind and setting up when they should be on their feet?

I have 4 tags and it's a brown it's down hunt(s), meat is the only goal.

I have snuck in and hung stands at night tight to bedding, just access where they’re not on the food at night and it works well.
