Wow! You just can't make this stuff up. Never fails, does it? I'm glad your dog was found though! LC, you are destined to kill that buck.
That’s crazy! I just don’t know what to even say about that. Well, you know he’s still in the area and won’t be getting near the tree you were in. Can you put a stand right where you saw him? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nah, I’ll stick to this tree. He was one I would have shot but he’s still not the big 8. I feel like I’m in the best spot to hill the bigger one.
Well look at the bright side, the dog didnt run away and have been worried about that whole situation. Tomorrow is another day, just be ready to make that shot. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Probably just needed to tell her to ‘calm down’. Cause that always is effective :eyeroll: You know you did the right thing, relationship-wise, the deer will be waiting for you. Just may want to give that particular spot a day or two rest…
That's not always true. I made a bad shot on this buck a number of years ago (you can see a blood stain on his shoulder) and he showed up on cam five days later in the same spot. I mean the exact same spot where I shot him. I was amazed!
Coffee down and I think I'm headed out. They were calling for 12 degrees this morning. It's 3 degrees. How can they get it that far off. I guess we will see how long I can stand this. Good luck if you're headed out.
Sorry...LOL Glad Ellie Mays OK BTW They sell these " tube" collars that light up. I know she snuck out. That said they are bright as all get out and you can have them solid or flashing. We have a blue and an orange one for our dogs. When they go out close to and dark we can clearly aee them. Scout bolted up into the alfalfa field several hundred yards away . Eating..well you know. I yelled and saw just how fast dalmations are. Funny as hell watching that blue collar zipping through that dark field. If you want them out for a short time flashing mode makes them want to come home fast.
I literally need to make knapkin "tubes " and stuff one in each nostril in these temps. Should just buy the surgical ones ear/nose/throat Docs use.
So not quite giving up yet. I shoveled yesterday 600ft plus mail box an turn around. Did the drive across street for the first time. DEEP/ packed! Then I grabbed Gator put it in 4 wheel and hit all trails past stands and blinds mid day. The snow was a good depth and this made walking trails for the deer. Yes yes they do use them. It's what ever reduces effort for them in this weather. It also helps me walking in. Letting things settle down then will be out. Hubby came home and said Oh boy you must be shot, I saw what you shoveled. Thanks!. Yes yes he was right, both hands are ache sorta tingly numb to my elbows.
I’ve seen 3 does and 2 fawns but no bucks yet. It’s warmed up to 8 degrees. I think my toes are froze. Some of the does had frost on their forehead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Focus on the positive; you have killed deer this year, Elly May was found safe, and you did not literally get hit by male anatomy between the eyes. Unless, that was wishful reminiscing about shore leave in Bangkok.
