You continue to see some rutting activity, which surprises me, because as I mentioned before, the rut dies in my woods around the middle of November, and we're both in Pa. Your persistence is going to pay off!

Last couple of years have been very hard on Iowa Deer numbers, and EHD has certainly seemed to be harder on mature bucks. Lost all age structure in 2020, finally had it back and then got hit again this year. Very few mature deer in my area. Last year they walked along a 3 mile stretch of river a mile north of me and counted 80 dead deer. Awful. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk
Been MIA for a bit but have been hunting with my nephew as much as possible. Opening day of muzz season and n MI was yesterday and we made it happen. This is Landon’s first buck which made it very, very bittersweet with his dad’s passing in October. It’s been nothing short of a privilege to hunt with this young man this year. We’ll be back at it Sunday and Monday to go after another buck or big ole doe.
