I saw two little bucks right at daybreak but nothing since. Good luck if you’re out this morning.

I would say a grunt isn't too intrusive, obvi you can overdo it but some grunting shouldn't spook deer much, at least in my experience.

I think it depends on how often the local deer have been subjected to it. They wise up after a while, especially on public land. JMO

I’ll be heading out in about a half hour. I’m actually going to try hunting from 8:30 to 2:00 or 3:00.

Shiukd be a good day. It’s overcast and the temp is going to hold steady at about 32 degrees all day.

Deer have been pretty active this morning. I watched 2 little bucks lick each other for over 5 minutes and when they were done they started sparring. I also had a young 8 point come by chasing a doe at 30 yards. Most sightings have been over 100 yards.

I'm impressed that you're still seeing some rutting activity. It came to a screeching halt in my woods around Nov 14th. Seems to happen like that every year in my area. Good luck out there!

I’m set up a little early. I didn’t bump anything riding in or walking in that I know of.

It’s going to be a long sit in freezing temps but I’m ready. Snacks, extra batteries, extra 5 Hour Energy and a whole quiver full of arrows to dnoodle one if it comes by.

The weather yesterday forecasted today’s wind as SSE, which is good. Woke up to a NE wind and it’s going to be that all day.

I scrambled to bring my Ozonics out of retirement. Fortunately the only battery I have for it now was charged, but it’s a lower capacity one and won’t last the full sit.

I’ll run it until about 9:30-10:00 After that I’ll just take my chances.

I am good with them, just wish they were cheaper. Most days, it feels like I will never retire.

Yes, looks like a blood trickle there. I am guessing he got gored by another buck's antler in a fight. Maybe shot with a small caliber bullet that was inadequate to kill him.

I wonder what it was doing way out here? I guess it’s on an adventure because I’m quite a distance from anyone’s house.

Probably chasing deer. I get the neighbors dogs every now and again running around. They are about a mile away, a couple of years ago I had a real problem with dogs running around chasing deer. Two different people got citations for it because I had trail cam pictures of them doing it. I have enough predators trying to kill the deer, really don’t need people’s dogs doing it to.

I'm sure you're quite happy with family, just some lighthearted humor. You'll retire in due time.
