I’m out with the rifle as well. Dusting of snow on the ground temps mid 20s. Fisher came through so far. Good luck out there.
Gonna be real bad road conditions. Frozen ice below snow coming soon. Ill be working on deer meat and drinking coffee.
Had a small doe at [emoji6][emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] right at first light and then had a coyote come through about [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] minutes ago…
One unknown deer was coming through the thick but stopped for som reason and went back in the direction it came. My wind was good not sure what happened
Stopped counting shots once I hit 30. Seen a handful of doe so far. Buddys son shot a 8 pt down below me, happy for the young lad.

CJ and I are in the blind this morning with rifles. Last weekend here, it closes Monday except for late muzzleloader in a nearby unit. Does and bucks on the menu this weekend. Got a couple inches of snow yesterday.
I’m back home, nothing after that unknown deer. Going to watch some noon college football and depending on how the game is going will determine if I go back out.
The weather forecast for today here said rain all day, 35 degrees in the morning and 15-20 mph winds. I stayed up late and then slept for 11 hours. My system isn’t quite sure how to process that much sleep and I feel kind of strange. Need coffee.
Once the rain quits I think I am going to slip out for an afternoon hunt. Cloudy, rainy, and windy here. Hopefully they will be on their feet headed towards food.
Okay, so I'm not the only one who can sleep those kind of hours. I actually do that pretty often. Not by choice, my bladder dictates the need to use the bathroom a few times throughout the night. This pattern makes me need the catch-up sleep. Getting old ain't no fun. I'll be heading out for an evening hunt shortly, probably one of my last for the season. I find this depressing!
