Was hoping to hang stand tomorrow on public, waiting on lifelines to get here. Ordered for curbside pickup on Tuesday, got an email 1/2 hour later stating out of stock, available to ship from another store nearby. Opted to ship. Shipped Wed. from Wisconsin, took until yesterday at 10:51am to reach Springfield. Not expected to be delivered until Monday. Total transit distance, 313 miles in 6 days, USPS sucks! They even have Sunday delivery anymore, but still wouldn't arribe until after dark.
I'm about to give up after loosing trail again. I did a heavy brush grid and started heading back. I look down and there's a trail no where near last one
My son shot one around 8:15. Got home quartered in fridge, showered and now off to bday party. Will be out this evening with my 15 y/o daughter and 19 y/o son. Good luck on the track OND
Disappeared yet again. She never stopped after shot. No pooling anywhere. I was set up on the tripod and she was ranged. I release my bolts free hand at 20 yrds never more than a 1/2inch off . There is only one place not checked and it's a no go. New guy got control and put up purple you will be prosecuted signs with cameras.I fear that's where she made it.
Hope you can get permission and find your doe. If he/she is a good neighbor, they'll allow recovery, it's the right thing to do.
Just in case yall are wondering this is the proper attire if your sister is getting married. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So home again and have same permission I originally had. I get in there and OMG!!!!! He's older like me now and has done NOTHiNG, it is a complete and total jungle. First off head high golden rod, I walked a trail into. I then realized it is PACKED WITH BEES face high mind you. Then honey suckle and autumn olive growing together ,literally. Dying red pine nearly blinding my a few times and critters. Yes critters scuring around under all that mess. I could have stepped on and walked over her and not seen her. I was actually sniffing hard to try and locate her to no avail.. What I did find today was buck rubs everywhere and it raining acorns. That is an upsetting wrap to doe only for me. I wanted one doe off our place and that was it. It boggles my mind going over the shot, the blood trails. I haven't even looked for the bolt yet. Over the years I've had WAY worse shots than that and the deer didn't go 50 yrds let alone vanish. Heard enough hits to have immediately called deer search before leaving stand. All I can do now is watch for vultures.
Pulled card, figures didn't catch the doe but did get a better Pic of second 8pt that came in just before her.
Well its great they gave you permission, it may open some future doors for you. The way you describe the place it could be a big buck haven. If your neighbor doesn't hunt, maybe he will allow you to do it. Good luck. Sent from my SM-S916U1 using Tapatalk
Lol Remember my high school typing story?... Well times that by a thousand with fatter fingers and a tiny phone key board a need for reading glasses
Well it actually is but he made it very clear that no one, even family, hunt it. I thought he had someone but it was the farmer hunting right on the line over his field. I have enough nice day buck on us not to need going onto his. Let them bed there in peace then roam on ours.
