Will be rolling out shortly. Hoping that big lone deer I saw before day light yesterday, errs…and if he doesn’t well it’s a ‘brown is down’ kinda day…

Up and ready. I’m after does today since I’m out of buck tags for MO. Still got my IL buck tag, but I have to wait until after 2nd firearms season to hunt a property I just got permission on.

We are settled in the blind. Eventful morning. Got here in plenty of time. Cocked the crossbow and the string got caught under the string catch and caused the cocking rope to get caught behind the string catch. So we had to run back to the house and get the second crossbow. We didn't get in here until 10min after shooting time. And of course saw 4 deer on our way in, luckily not by the blind. All settled now and hoping some 0800 deer walk by.

Been settled in for a little bit. Deer were already here when I got here. They left, but they will be back. Got turkeys flying down now. Nice and cool this morning.

Hats off to anyone who's sitting out in the cold this morning. I can't tolerate the cold like I could when I was younger.
But, it's supposed to go to 45F on Saturday, so I'll likely do an evening hunt tomorrow.

Pennsylvania firearms deer season opens tomorrow too, so good luck to those heading to camp.

I’ve been out since 45 minutes before first light. It wasn’t that cold here this morning at 27 degrees.

My feet, thighs and hands are my weak points. A couple of weeks ago I started using heated socks. They are a game changer for me.

So I ordered a heated thermal layer set that should arrive today. I already have a heated vest so I only need the bottoms.

If those work as well as the socks cold weather will no longer be a problem.

I also ordered four good rechargeable hand warmers.

I figure the amount of money I spend in one year on Hot Hands products will pay for everything.

    Good luck guys.
So I woke too wagging mature trees and several inches of snow and COLD. Also due to a wonderful very rich spread our daughter put on yesterday I was awake hafl the night with a gut ache. All my fault, but geez it was great while eating..lol
I had to do a first season major shovel. Around birds , house, garage, vehicals, turn around and pushing off covers and new green house roof. Hubby did mail box and end of drive. Pulled card and the deer were out all night in the snow. I think all doe but mostly only eyes could be seen through the snow fall.
