Nothing to show for my evening hunt. But, I was able to leave the woods just before the heavens opened up!

I was thinking the same, hopefully he’s elbows deep or packing out the deer, instead of trying to track…

I wish I had better news, my youngest had a backstrap hit. Very little blood on the bolt certainly not a fatal hit and a flesh wound. I feel bad for him. He followed my instructions perfectly and was patient to wait for the eight shot. Unfortunately, the doe ducked and got lucky.

While we looking, my oldest text me that he had shot a 5 point. Also unfortunately, his shot was back and is liver/guts. We waited a couple of hours to look because he thought it went down. It did not after grid searching for an hour we backed. I put in a request on the Tracker app. I would love to go back out and look in the morning. Not sure my wife will allow that with it being Thanksgiving.

Hope you have success in the morning.

JAKE - jealous of the long bow kill. Someday I hope to shoot a deer with my dad's long bow. That will be a special day.

one decent buck and only one time on one cam since opening weekend; a nice 2.5 yo 8pt we call Goofy b/c one side is dwarf compared to the other side (he's probably 60"x40".) Haven't seen anything else other than a 1.5yo 6pt and does. Looks like the neighbors went Leroy Jenkins on the herd...
