Back home for now, didn’t see anything. I picked the wring spot. A cell cam over a scrape was blowing up with activity all morning. Going to back out with my oldest and youngest this afternoon and see if we can cover all the travel routes around it.

I’m back home getting lunch heading back out in a little bit found some scrapes that have been put in since last week I may setup on them this evening it’s going to start cooling off pretty quickly so maybe a buck might come by to freshen them up

Heading out shortly for an evening hunt before Thanksgiving Day, which I can't hunt. Good luck to those hunting today!

I didn't see a thing this morning where I was. I moved my stand 50 yards SSW when I got down this morning to set up for where I saw the buck travel Monday evening. It's a much better spot in that I actually have shots out to 30 yards. Where I was a buck could have walked past me at 15 yards and I might not have had a shot.

The wind is totally wrong to go and hunt where the buck was on camera this morning. There just isn't a way to set up for him with a NW wind, but it's perfect for where I'm going to be this afternoon.

All I can do is keep playing chess with these suckers and hope that eventually I can win a game.

I put my oldests near as close to the scrape as the wind would allow. He is watching the lake shore trail leading to it about 100 yards off of it. Any closer would have blown the area up. There are seveal scrapes along that trail.

Youngest and I are about 400 yards away on the ground watching a different travel route. Wind wasn’t good enough to move closer to the active scrape without ruining my oldests hutn so we are watching a different area. There is a scrape about 60 yards from us.

Too late and kinda warm this evening, but the next several days are looking fine AND due to conflicting schedules of the kids and relatives we will be celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday…hmm…

My 8 year old just took a shot at a doe with the crossbow. I think he got her. Six does came in from the CRP across the draw from us. All the deer ran back that way, We have about an 1 hour 20 left.

So, Thanksgiving stuff got in the way. That said I had bulk meat scraps to take out to scrap pile. Got in Gator at end of season to see the 8 doe leave nieghbors sanctuary and go to middle of farmers alfalfa field. I went across the street and down the laneway toward back of property. I came about 6 in from getting a 4 pt buck. I was going fast enough to do major damage to him and Gator. Well I know where they are hiding all day, for it was the sanctuary he bolted from.

    Happy Thanksgiving Everyone
    Enjoy family and friends
