Well folks, gun season ended a half hour after sunset today. My bow is ready and I've been chomping at the bit to get back down into that valley where I saw the big buck. I left my pack in the tree and I was going to go get it but I decided that even though it was going to rain I didn't want to go back down there unless I could shoot him. I'll be climbing that three in the morning. It hasn't rained today so the outside of my pack will be dry but the inside will be damp. There's nothing in there that will be hurt by getting wet. I just won't be able to wear my balaclava in the morning. I'm ready for more bow hunting.
Im gonna have to get you a new montain dew hat! That ones seen to much fish and animal carnage and its getting wore out!
It's actually a new hat. My best friend bought it for me. That's the kind of hay he likes - the more beat up and distressed, the better! The Angry minnow - cool apparel. I have others. Thanks.
Heading out in a few. Going to need to see something early to keep me engaged. I’m getting burned out. Good luck to anyone out this morning.
Thanks. To be honest I’d just be happy to see him again. I’m up and sipping coffee. I’ll head out in about 20 minutes. The that should put me on stand about 45 minutes before first light.
I kind of know what you mean Ash. It gets harder and harder to keep on grinding, especially with the abysmal season I’m having this year. I’ve never had much quit in me, but as I work my way through my 60’s I’m finding it’s getting much more difficult to keep pushing so hard. Heck, I haven’t even started hunting Arkansas yet.
