Ended up being a fork horn. He fed off into the thick behind. A huge tree just fell. Thought it would spook that deer he just stood and listened .

Was thinking typo, but then you mentioned lamb which pairs well with wine.....

I have heard of wake and bake, can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning, etc... but wine tasting before the morning hunt may be a first

I wish they had lamb or a hog cooking, I’d even bring the beer or wine…

Nothing but a ghost town here so far but did have a raccoon walk straight to the base of my tree and put his front paws on it and look up like he was coming up here got a little worried for a minute didn’t know how that was going to turn out but luckily he moved on

Nothing since the fork horn earlier. Giving it another hour then off to get Chinese to bring back to the family for lunch unless a deer screws up my plans.

back at camp, woods were dead. Only a few gunshots heard, although one was on the neighboring private side.

My buddy in WI is in his box blind w/ his daughter, they haven't seen anything but said it sounds like a war zone on the neighbors there. We know they bait (illegal) . Fingers crossed they're not smoking all the big boys.

Going to slip out to the corn field this evening and hunt the last couple hours. Going to have a good wind to sit a fence row funnel I've hunted many times.

Im going to put the SIL in the corn field blind. He should have some action.

Son and I are settled into the blind with rifles.
Still just smaller bucks cruising, no bigger bucks moving on cameras so far. Hasn’t quite kicked off here yet. Buy cams are showing some mid day cruising by the smaller ones.
When we got here I freshened up the mock scrape and then made a big loop around the blind area with doe in heat drag. Saw one doe while doing that.
CJ says any buck, no does on the menu…for now.
Best of luck to everyone out.

Back in the deep woods stand. Steady wind, 35deg, cloudy. Neighbors rode up on 4wheelers. I assume they are hunting the ridge too. Hopefully all their marching around will push a Buck my way. Good luck everyone!

Not hunting but it was wild here around 1:30 - 2:00pm the entire hill, especially outback behind house blew up in shots.
We are finishing prodjects. Garden cam showed a doe this morning and several over night. Rain comes in at noon tomorrow and showers every day to thanksgiving when the bottom drops out ,temp wise.
    Good luck today all.
