I haven’t been posting much lately because I haven’t been seeing any in the backyard. Well that changed tonight about 25 minutes ago. Drilled a doe and watched her go down.

I could be wrong, but that buck looks like he has 6 points, no? At this point in my season, I'd consider killing him too.

I couldn't agree more! I miss working and the guys I used to see every day. Part of the social aspect of life gets lost when you retire a lot of times. It does lend itself to afford lots of hunting and fishing time though. :tu:

You're lucky you still have that finger considering the tool. A Sawzall does what it's name implies. Glad you're okay.

Another deerless evening hunt for me. This makes three sits in a row now. Not very encouraging.

Looks like that is going to need stitches or an entire tube of super glue.

Decided on the shotgun, plans are changing a bit. Was going to sit on some cut corn fields that are tucked away so wanted the muzzleloader for a bit more range. Don't think fields would be good if there's a steady or hard rain falling, deer cart across cut corn on soft ground doesn't sound fun either, especially if freshly plowed under. Going to sit a small valley inside the woods instead, west edge abuts several chunks of private totaling about 200 acres. Hoping whoever hunts it will push deer to me early.

All looks good in my minds eye
