I’m going back to where I got the doe Monday. Only reason being I want to see if I can find that knife I lost. Hopefully it fell out on the railroad tracks. I tried looking for a replacement on the Buck website it’s discontinued. Went to ebay and some are going for more than I would like to pay. I went through my truck to to bottom and my hunting clothes I didn’t even need to take it with me when I went back. Bone head move.

It was a model 270, has a little sentimental value also. Thanks pastor Jim.

Well I'm way up on the hill. Good amount of tracks in the snow up here. They have been milling around up here since Saturday. I can see and shoot a long ways. Good luck everyone!

Our family hunt in the National Forest was a huge success. All three of us killed bucks in the first two days.

We all went home Monday and I took some time off.

Bow season is closed here until after gun season. I have one firearms antlerless tag so I’m in a tree on the big place at home hoping a doe walks by.

I think Thumper would like to get at least one kill this year.

Yep. That’s her. I’ve said it before but I’ve never needed help finding a deer I’ve shot with this gun.

No, it’s not really that bad. It’s a fairly heavy gun. It will wake you up a bit though.

I didn’t find the knife on the way in and the route I took brought me out above the stand I’m sitting in. Just thankful to be out. Beautiful evening. Good luck anyone who’s out. image.jpg

Ole uncle Arthur came to visit my body today with this cold damp weather we're having. Decided to stay in and warm my bones by the wood stove instead of hunting this evening. Maybe tomorrow...

With all the wind we have had it’s probably covered up by leaves. You don’t happen to have a metal detector or know someone who does, do you?

Here we are in the stand. Cameras have been ghostly today the least!! Wind is variable so I picked the comfortable stand.

    Good Luck, everyone!!

Have an hour left. A buck bedded about 35 yards away behind a big brush. Don’t think he is a shooter but not 100%.
