In the stand for the first sit of the season. Soaking wet with sweat, in a crappy tree, swirling wind, and forgot my bow hanger and thermacell. So I’m pretty much already in mid season form.
Too hot for me to want to get in a tree. Next several days of rain should bring some cooler weather with it.
I thought so too, but the storms rolled through, missed me ant the temp dropped from 88 to 71 in about 45 minutes.
Yesterday we were on bugles from six am to two pm. Just couldn’t close the distance on one bull we chased most of the day. Did bump two cows and two calves, and two cows and one calf the evening before. Today a lot of long miles (nearly nine) of bow hiking. Several miles through muck and blowdowns. Saw a couple nice grouse and found the head of a porcupine…oh and lots of bear ****…

So dang close. Had a big one come by at 45 yards. Saw 3 other bucks and a handful of does. The big one was the closest.
In exactly 10 hrs 30 min I will be watching my first 2025 tree stand sunrise! For the bast 6-7 years if there was a trophy I’d have it for the absolute worst LFTS “member” because I hate being on my phone in a stand. As I type this right now I absolutely guarantee all of you, this year will be a 100% repeat of the last 6-7 years!! But you absolutely know when I shoot one. I’ve been trying to think of a good announcement much like LC and Holt but just can’t quite think of a good enough one, any recommendations from you gents? Good luck to all of you getting out in the morning!
Good luck to you tomorrow. You never disappoint with your season. Sent from my SM-S916U1 using Tapatalk
My buddies and I used to do a bourbon white elephant for Christmas. Ended up just getting extremely drunk
