Winds of 20-30 mph in my region today, with gusts over 40 mph. That will probably keep me out of the woods. I'll play it by ear, because winds often die down later in the day. We'll see.

It's been windy almost every day for the last two weeks!

Dead quiet this way. Taking a little walk at 10 then going to push a small swamp for the FIL.

I bailed out. Wind picked up a bit too much for my comfort. I don't trust most of the trees on these ridges yet. Had a great morning. Good luck yall, im sipping coffee at the house now

Going to slip into a ground setup this evening i put in over a month ago. It an old shower seat that I painted with camo paint. It should put me on a good cross wind for the community scrape. The scrape is 50 yards south by the camera icon. I hope i get half the action there VS had this past Thursday.

OK so there was no opening gun hunt for me. I have packed freezers and a deer to process. Besides near 60 before front blew in.
The two of us had backpack pro leaf blowers on our backs and it took nearly all day to do around the house and the drive. We make sure we go into the woods edge and clear so these winds cant get the leaves back. Only our oak still have leaves.
So pleased the heavy rains came in with these winds. We woke to mostly still clean, save the few oak. Now we are in whiteout pelleted snow.I'm pretty sure things will stay clear. Thank God! We looked like two crippled dogs when done. Those things are not light to carry on your back for hours!

    Ps
checked garden cam ,as expected zero activity save a lone doe the night before last. They are all in the several pine woods scattered around the hill

Had some action at 945. Doe and 2 fawns snuck through at 50yds. 2 fawns came out the doe never did. Had some chasing going on but never saw the buck.

Smart move bailing. I didn't go in this morning because of the crazy winds we're getting. Yesterday was perfect with very little wind, for a change. But, other than that it's been pretty windy for at least the last two weeks straight! Last week I actually saw two trees get blown over. That's usually an indication that I shouldn't be in the woods.

Does anyone else wonder why we've been getting so much wind over such an extended period of time? I think it's strange. I hate not being able to hear what's going on in my woods, not to mention everything is moving.
