Trying something different today. Will be out in about a hour.

Im taking a fairly new bowhunter on his first ever public land hunt. He has shot a few deer over the years, and is mostly a meat hunter. He has been intrigued by my hunts and keeps saying he wants to try it. So its happening today. Im going to give him the full spectrum of public on this hunt. He will either hate it and never be back or love it. Im not going easy on him and taking him deep. I have a good spot in mind and shouldn't be a problem to get him on a deer. Im going to put him in the kill tree and i will back out and hunt down the marsh some on a near by trail. I hope he gets one and enjoy the real work after, haha. This will be fun.

Saw the largest flock of turkeys I’ve seen on this property (about 15) at 100 yds. Some squirrels. My son saw a doe behind us but no shot. Heading pick up daughter from work and then she will be out with me to try and get her first deer.

We are up. He did great. Only thing that sucked is we found boot tracks and a cell camera and didn't look like it was long ago. He found a tree and climbed. I moved maybe 60 yards down and setup in a tree i used before. Was setup 10 minutes and had a spike walk under me. That was fast! 20251115_141317.jpg

I just got back up. I only saw a spike and 6 point this morning. I’m back where I was last evening. Good luck if you’re out.

Just walked between buildings at work, seen a beetle flying in the sunlight and was reminded of a dream I had last night. I think it was induced by @oldnotdead

I don't recall what I was doing, but I had removed my boot because there was a tick on it. When I got my boot removed there were 3 more on my sock. One was trying to burrow into my sock and the other 2 were crawling toward my ankle. I grabbed a can of permethrin and started spraying them. They then took off flying. It literally woke me up but I had forgotten about it until I seen the flying beetle and I remembered waking up last night.

Ugh, could you imagine if ticks morphed into having wings????

Walked the property a bit after the morning hunt. Man is it tore up. Jumped a doe and fawn but no shot. Had some lunch and getting back after it.

    Good luck everyone.
