Had a little flurry of deer activity right at last light. A doe and fawn came in the marsh. The fawn was doing crazy runs all around. Then a spike and 4 pt came in and pushed the doe around. What a great sit. Only took 3 weeks to have one! Haha

Man, off the forum for two days and had a ton to catch up on! Congrats to all the killers! You guys and girl are crushing it! I’m still sidelined at the moment but itching to get back out. Plenty of doe tags and I get a fresh buck tag in MD the Saturday after Thanksgiving…. Probably just stick close to home and hunt for a doe for our rifle season

I'm highly leaning towards going out for firearm season next weekend. See what happens and deal with any limitations if I need to. Not even going to worry about any reprecussions at work, I've been doing crap I probably shouldn't be with work restrictions given. Somehow it feels like it doesn't matter as long as it gets done. Getting a deer out of the woods seems easy compared, as long as I protect my wrist, what's the difference?

Next week should be a bit easier on me, supervisor will hopefully be back and it won't be me filling in for the department. Time will tell

Bumped one as soon as I lowered my backpack and bow. Just saw the turkeys, and the hawk came back and caught a skwirl begging my stand…

Firearms season is a part of US as hunters. Sure it’s easier, but at the same time you need to be where deer are. We are trying to feed our families. There is nothing wrong using a gun in a gun season.

No shame in my game  , broke my wrist in a fall at work on the 3rd. Been sidelined since and was somewhat more worried about works response if I did moreso than reaggravating the injury if I tried.

Was unable to post from stand due to service. One doe at 3pm by herself nothing following and no shot at her. Tempted to go there tomorrow as the sign was good but where I hunt it’s set up right next to the state land access and I’m just concerned if a bunch of people are coming in that way I may not see anything and the projected SE wind tomorrow does not help either. I’ll make my decision tomorrow when I join the orange army and what firearm to use.

Can you use those hunters to push deer to you or envision where the deer may relocate due to the pressure? Like a little pocket somewhere.

The area I’m hunting is small. State land border is yellow. Stand site is red. Fresh deer sign is green. If I knew nobody would access the little yellow area that borders the blue that’s my aunts property I think it would work, might try mid week when less pressure. I think I have another good spot tomorrow that I haven’t touched yet.

Been awake since 3:30. Did some stretching and finishing up my morning 3 S routine. I still love gun opener. It reminds of the old days hunting camp with friends and family.

Good luck out there guys and gals.

    Stay safe!

Getting food and coffee, rifle opener in Central and will get warm. So, doesn’t make good sense to me to run up to the mtns, on little sleep and warm temps in the afternoon. Marginal wind on my land to hunt with the bow, today…

So I’m finding my pumpkin costume.

Will go old school with a lever action and open sights, just cause…

Just put my coffee down and will be heading out in about 40 minutes. 41 degrees and SSW winds again today. It’s going up to 61 degrees which I’m not happy about but the high on Sunday is 47. Good luck out there this morning and stay safe.

I hope the wind forecast is correct today. If it is it may get all Western this morning on my best River crossing pinch point. Calling for SSW 9-14 mph. Setup a blind on it Thursday while hunting with VS.
Gonna take a good buck for me to squeeze one off.

I'll be 10 yards east of the treestand and camera icon...
