Haven’t been around because my cable line got pulled down by a moving van.
I’m in until dark. Yesterday, I saw a yearling and a buck that I didn’t get a good look at.
    At least I’m seeing something.

Alright im back up. Hitting all my old spots see if anything around. Drove to another parking lot and scouted a spot for a hour. Some deer tracks, but no buck sign. Hiked back out. Moved again to another parking lot and another guy there. Ask what direction he was heading, luckily he said the opposite of were i want to check. Got down in this marsh and decent tracks around, but many rubs and a couple scrapes up on the ridge. So sitting here.

Been in since 1215. Fresh rub and scrape near by. Cell service is terrible here. I bought some oatmeal raisin cookies and brought them with me kind of wish I didn’t they smell strong. 4hrs to go. Mitch was like that guy from Lord of the Rings flinging all those arrows.

If I were hunting, I’d need cut-off jean shorts.

I'm tied in. 33, light snow. Scrapes I walked by were opened up and they weren't 2 days ago. Hopefully get some close action today. Probably my last day in VT with a bow in hand. Rifle starts tomorrow through the end of the month and then Muzzleloader for 9 days. I can go out with a bow during those seasons but since I don't have a deer down yet I'll probably be out with firearms. Good luck everyone!

I never updated after that. About 15 minutes after that post a great buck walked to the pond from the west. He was 80-90 yards out. I tried calling but he ignored it. I didn’t try again.

Instead I moved to a tree that gives me a shot at both him and the other good buck I saw last night if they or another buck does the same thing.

Im set up early because gun hunters will be running all over hanging their stands for the gun opener tomorrow.

I am going to gun hunt but I will hunt with my bow tomorrow morning. If I have shot here it will most likely be in bow range.

Embracing the suck and the sick (afternoon) time. In 1.5 miles, and in the stands on an oak ridge with poplar and holly. Lake down below.

Any late afternoon hunters could push deer my way. It’s warm, ~60 and about 6 kt into my face. Rifle season opens here, tomorrow… will decide later tonight if I bow hunt my private or head up to the mtns where rifle is a bit more delayed…or if I pull out a rifle.

The cut some logging roads in here last year, figure they will log it soon…40yds away.

I’m up. I had a fawn bedded 60 yards away. The one buck I call Goofy was in here last evening, 10 minutes before dark. I haven’t had a picture of him in 3 weeks. He’s a 5.5 year old. If he shows up, I’m tripping the trigger.

I had a fawn come by about 5 minutes ago and now a spike just followed her. Good start.
