Here’s the big one that slipped past this morning. He wanted to commit 2 different times to some light grunts but that fresh doe scent trail from this morning was priority #1 for him IMG_1422.jpeg

I am down, ended up being a good first sit. Saw a group of deer all the way across the cut corn field, then about 5 minutes later saw a doe running through the middle of the field towards the group I had just spotted. An hour later I had what I thought was 2 does come off the creek bank and into the cut corn about 60 yards behind me. I grunted, and got the trailing “doe”to come towards the grunts. Then the “doe” starting wind checking my Tinks and looking for the source. I grabbed my bow, clipped on the release, and the “doe” turned just enough to show 2 very small forks just above the ears. My “doe” turned into a spike and game over! Great morning anyway!

Got down around 9:30 moved a camera to a rub line with a scrape. Changed parking areas, going to eat and than find a spot for the evening.

Had a successful morning. Didn’t kill anything, but my 4 year old said he had fun and wanted to do it again. We saw a handful of deer and a big flock of gobblers. We also smashed a whole box of Christmas tree cakes.

My wife was mid draw on a doe when she snapped her head up and saw her. At least she had some action. Got a wedding this evening, but I’ll be back at it all day tomorrow.

Spotted a shooter at 9 at about 200yds. Couldn’t find him in the binos. He crossed in the swamp at 125 coming right at me. Thought it was a done deal… damn thing just disappeared.

I can't defeat the Ill license app. What a terrible and overregulated state.

Wasn't aware they had an app.

Not sure how non-residents go about it, but I have always used https://www.exploremoreil.com/ on my phone without issue

When I got in my truck looked down I had numerous tics on my pants from walking out through the tall grass. I had none on me all morning until then. Needless to say I’ll my outerwear went in the back of the truck for the ride home.
