Doe just ran by like it was getting chased… nothing following. Don’t know if they are spooky because of the wind or what.

Liquid courage and online accessibility proved my downfall many times. Wouldn't really call it "liquid courage" though, more like "liquid, aww $@%# it, I'm doing it and worry about the why tomorrow"

At least you are honest about your flaws, in this case, indulge the flaw.

Send it, drink beers after to celebrate it. Life’s short! I’m very impulsive with my hunting purchases, come to an outdoor show with me and I’ll prove it beer in hand!! Go kill a IL slammer!

North Dakota non resident archery tag is $375 and I’ll do it every single year. One of the best parts is meeting down to earth locals in dive bars after your hunts. I have access to almost 1000 acres of mostly open farm ground anytime I want meeting a guy that way. We still Snapchat and talk regularly.

It’s so fun. Haven’t done a trip like that by myself yet though. Would be a bit different.

Saw two squirrels and three big raccoons. That’s it. I’ll post the raccoon video on my IG when I have service.

Had an awesome hunt, just never did shoot. I had deer in range most of the evening without ever having a shot. Saw 8-9 different bucks and 15 or so does and fawns. Was just about to shoot one of the does and a little buck came running in and busted them up and out of my shooting lanes. One of the bucks was fairly nice, but he never came into range for me to debate about shooting him. Gonna try it again in the morning with my 4 year old. Should be a fun sit in the blind.

I'm sure they work sometimes, but I've had more negative results using a grunt call than positive. I prefer to let a buck do what he's going to without me intervening. When they commit and see no other deer, it tends to put them on edge. My opinion is worth what it cost you.

I came close this evening. About 4:15 I had a buck coming in. I could just barely make him out through the thick cover, but he was coming in just like I needed him to. Suddenly he stopped and I thought he had somehow managed to see me, but then I heard another deer coming in on a steady pace. I never could see the second deer, but I can only assume it was a buck as well. They both stood very still for about two minutes and then the second deer cut right and hit my scent stream. It didn't blow. It just took off back the way it came. After about 20 seconds the first buck trotted off after it.

I'm sure there are instances where a doe gets your wind and doesn't blow, but in my experience that usually means a buck.

If it's not one thing it's another. Or I could say, if it's not one buck it's a second buck that screws things up.

Well… can’t say it was an uneventful all day sit.

    Got in 30 minutes late.

Spooked a doe group (cam pictures showed it).

Getting my bibs/coat on at base of tree and had a buck grunting and either scraping/rubbing like 40yds from me.

    Spike cruised by.

    Fisher encounter was awesome

80-90” 8pt got to 47yds cruising. Circled the entire thick bedding and came right back.

Doe with 4 (likely satellite) yearlings

    Mink hunting adventure

    Passed a mature looking 6pt

Unfortunately I’ll be out with my 6.5 Creedmoor tomorrow as it’s gun opener. Alarm is set for 4am instead of 445.

Hunted all day, didn’t see a single deer. Almost 80 today, not liking this heat in November. Home now, my 3 day Gun permit hunt starts in the morning. Debating if I want to take the bow out too, just in case something comes close enough, but it is supposed to be almost 80 again tomorrow for a high before the cold front starts hitting.

Hunted 12 hours today and saw three seperate doe, but not until around 4:00pm. That's actually sort of odd, because I've been seeing more buck than doe for the last two weeks. I'll be doing an all day hunt tomorrow.

Fun night! Had several shootable does, and I got my fall turkey. Had a smaller buck come in at dusk, I thought he was gone, but then as I was climbing down we got into a staring contest till he walked off. With the pheasants this morning, pretty successful day even without the trifecta of a buck. 20251107_174745.jpg 20251107_174853.jpg 20251107_112523.jpg

Good sit in NY. Saw a 4 deer. 2 fawns came 39 yards. Everything else was 90 + yards. Real windy though. Tomorrow should be real good. Cold and and somewhat calm.
