Good morning early risers! Best of luck to those hunting today! I'm going to attempt an all day sit, but possible high winds are predicted, so I'll play it by ear. Monday morning at first light had my woods very active! Hoping for the same this morning. I hate DST!!
@JW Gruv heck yeah f a day yesterday, congratulations! just got strapped to a tree, about 40 minutes until legal. Good luck out there this morning killers!
Had a shooter following a doe about 15 minutes before light, could see him clear as day at 10 yards in the moonlight.
Since November 1 my cameras in VT and NJ have both been dead. No deer. Not even at night. October 23 through November 1 deer were day lighting every day in NJ. In VT it was October 16 to 19 that they daylighted. Crazy kinda pattern this year. I think it will heat up again sometime between November 7 and 10. We will see. I will be in a NJ tree on the 7th, first time getting down there. See you from a VT tree this afternoon, wind and rain moving in by 4. Big cold front. Hope they will be on their feet. Good luck everyone.
I was just thinking the same thing. Have to change up my clothing selection just for those days. I never had great deer action on big cold snaps. Guess its just the areas i hunt. Think hunting bedding its the same no matter the temp. But if i was on food, then can see them getting there earlier. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I always think the same thing, then i go all day and never see a deer and im frozen, haha. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I remember about 4 years ago, here in Wisconsin we got hit with like 4 inches of snow on Halloween followed by bitterly cold temps. Talking wind chills close to 0. Figured deer would be hitting standing soybeans hard. Wrong. Barely saw any deer in the food plots.
I'm up, just now breaking out the phone. Have not seen anything from stand yet this AM. Bumped a 2.5 6pt with no brows and his new girlfriend on the way in, he's a regular on cams and not on this year's menu so I'm not bummed about that. What I am bummed about is every deer older than 2.5 hasn't been seen on hoof or cam in appx 72hrs. It can all change in an instant tho. 2 of 3 bucks I killed on this property were between 9-1030. Unless I get lucky and run into one this AM, probably go in at 11, quick bite and bathroom run, then back out by noon to do a rest of the day hang and hunt on different area on the property.
