Been up for appx an hour in a new spot on this property and had this guy come in

If it would have been this guy from yesterday (while nobody up here) I might be having a celebration beer right about now.

Not sure though, he's right about the lower end of what I'm looking for up here and w/2 in the freezer already I am thinking about holding out for our top 2 targets, only one of which had been on property in past 2 weeks.

So I know why hubby was so MISERABLE, hit me like a freight train last night. Had to get up at 1:30 a.m. to take something to help me sleep. Ever get a "crunchy " toy for your dog? Thats what the inside of my head sounds like when I swallow or just move my head.
So let the winds howl and it rain, as it is right now. I'll rest then hit areas where I found a lot of new sign. I know of at .east 3 nice 8's walking through.

Swing and a miss. Found arrow and it was clean. Shot for 30 and it was 19. Right over her back. Hope I got that out of my system!

Still can't believe my season is pretty much over before it ever started. Hoping for an outside shot of getting out for the draw hunt 2nd half if December, going to be extremely tight. This coming weekend and firearm season(s) kaput.

No deer for me tonight but went ahead and dragged that dead head out of the creek for further inspection. It does have an exit wound out of one front armpit. Somebody is looking for this deer but weird it made it to this area. I did find two deer stands deep in our woods that I've never put there...and they are recent

Hoping you feel better soon and that wrist doesn't become too much of an issue.

I don't think anyone looked very hard for that if the exit was in front of the armpit. Seems a bit slobbish

Rambo - nice buck. Looks like a moose in that pic.
    :poke:
Is this the one you shot yesterday?

Indy - that sucks someone is on your property, shooting big bucks, and not putting the effort to track them down. Upside -2 new stands for you!

Tony - sorry for the swing and miss buddy

I think ill try to get out in the morning before work.

Today was exciting! I heard deer very close to my stand in the dark going in. Heard all kinds of branches/twigs getting broken in the darkness just after I got set up in my tree. Right at first light I heard a grunt and a big bodied buck was cruising through with another deer that broke off from him. Saw antler, but still too dark to make out the rack. At 8:10am I had a pretty decent 8pt come through as well. A nice buck, but not the one I'm after.

I also saw four doe, two singles and two lone doe. I heard a few other deer that I never actually saw. A great day for the woods I hunt!

A funny thing happened, when a doe and her yearling were feeding in front of me for like 20 mins. All of a sudden that mature doe looks up at me, gives a tiny foot stomp, puts her head down to feed and picks it back up quickly, repeating this a couple times. Then she goes with the head bobbing. She didn't seem to feel comfortable with that blob she sees, and they both slowly walked back the way they came.

These deer were upwind of me, I was making no noise, and didn't move at all. These mature doe just seem to know when something isn't right.
I'll be doing another dark to dark tomorrow.

I got a quick picture of the doe i missed right before I shot. I had ranged the area she came to at the shot and remember it as being 30. Not sure why I was so far off on the yardage. I ranged it after the shot at 19. She was just on the other side of the weeds from the blind. Doe fever lol
