I’m back at the house, small bucks chasing doe this am was a fun sit. Big boy was a no show, only a matter of time!
Those are awesome!! We had one crash into our living room window one morning. The kids got to hold it before they took it to the tree where they were able to pet it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks It's actually a very common sight here, spring and fall. As you can see from the electric lines we are on a steep hill. 1.8 mile straight line to the valley floor. Well not straight the last 1/4 mile has 2 sharp curves ,then straightens again. Sitting at the end of 2 lakes causes a lot of fog. If you look, that big globe across the valley is the military radar it's the reason we can step off the porch when the B52 ,cargo, and copters fly over and literally see the pilots. They pretty much skim our trees right over the middle of the house...lol
Congratulations @dnoodles look forward to seeing him and hearing one of your famous deer stories! How many arrows left in the quiver?
Slight change of plans; wife had a nail in her tire when she left to go to church this morning. Currently sutting at Walmart waiting on a patch. Midday sit at the scrape is not be happening. Still going to go about but probably not until around 1 pm at this rate. May just go sit there for the afternoon anyway. A spike and three does went by it at 6:45 this morning on camera. The scrape is on the edge of a swamp bedding area, so I know deer are in the area.
That’s it for ND. Great trip that definitely convinced me to try spot and stalk open country more in the future. I’ve basically been non committal on trips before out of fear it wasn’t something for me. Probably take a day or 2 off to get my gear all situated and clothes washed and get back at it. No drama kill this AM, at about 20 minutes after legal light had a buck walking in towards me pretty much straight on or maybe 1:00, as soon as I saw he was as wide as his ears and had some mass I decided I was going to shoot him and didn't look again. At about 18 yards he turned a slight quarter and I put the pin just inside his front shoulder and let it fly, hit exactly where I was hoping for and he bolted, crashed into what seems like every tree for about 40 yards, made a 90° right turn and ran for about another 30 and he smacked into another tree after which he pretty much tipped over backwards in slow motion. That was that. Died literally 5 ft from the quad trail. Got both lungs and the pump works above his heart.
