Finally saw a buck. Although just a small spike, at least it was something. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Deer movement has been really good this morning. Definitely not boring!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Keep watching. If he stopped he knows where the sound came from and most likely will get down wind of you to check it out. Keeping my fingers crossed for you brother!
I’ve been there Brett as I’m sure a lot of us have. Just get back at it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It’s awesome to say I’ve lost track of how many deer have come by, I even grunted in a nice 8 ptr. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So the gun club opened. 3 miles away and the sound travels to where it sounds like they are shooting just over my ridge. Yeppers I have zero tolerance for that. Sundays are always the worse. They have a lot of competitions. We've been members for...ever and never go down. Any who, Left at 8:50 and as I crossed the street to home.Took this Pic. The fog dropping down into the valley.
sat yesterday at two different locations, first was where I shot a buck 2 yrs ago, didnt see squat but sqrls, sat till 11ish ... went to a different spot about 2 miles across the property ... got set up by 1:30, at 4:30 a small but chunky 4 pt passed 21 yds behind me, easy shot but I dont want anything that small, tried to take a pic but the damn phone wouldnt focus ... nothing else seen ... wont be back out till next Fri./Sat. - work beckons
btw, while walking to my first location yesterday I pass by and between 3 'lakes', they usually have 2-3 ft water, some times a tad more... this is how dry the place is ... the 3 'lakes' I walk by are all like this ... even the larger 'lakes' are super low, the sloughs are also dry .. one thing for sure, there are not that many waterfowl hunters now, so it is quieter across the marshes in the AM's, waterfowl guys must quit at noon anyways, which is why I usually hunt the marshes in the PM's ... these lakes are usually full of Sandhills and waterfowl, they are now only on the larger 'lakes' .....this place needs a LOT of rain to fill these ...
