western most state in a time zone, love it.
    Eastern most, hate it.

Just wish it would permanently stay on DST.

no signal at all today, this AM had a very large buck walk right under me 10 minutes before shooting light, all I could see was antler tips and the white on his ass as he walked away. I'd say 130-ish. Let a small 6 walk after that, he bedded about 55yds away for a couple hours but that was that.

This evening, different spot, had 6 does at one point under me eating acorns with -0- buck attention or pressure. Can't decide where I want to sit tomorrow.

Agreed, with humans being the only species out of billions of species on the planet that do DLST, we are the dumbest.

My youngest and I had a doe run in Front of us around 3:00 as we were walking into our spot for the evening. That was all any of us saw, absolutely dead.

As we were packing up to walk out , a bowhunter walked up on us. Bow season is closed during these youth permit weekends. Dude had four violations going on: hunting without a permit during a permit hunt, hunting without a youth during a youth hunt, failing to wear orange during a firearms hunt, hunting out of season. I told him and would not turn him in, but he should be careful leaving, becuase I was checked earlier.

i ran into a the Game Officer for the first time today while we were taking a lunch break at the cars. Officer was polite, but checked all of our licenses and permits to make myself, my wife and our three kids were all legal.

Have some beers, take a day off, and get back in the saddle. Deer hunting is hard and killing deer is hard. No matter how much we shoot, scout, etc can’t prepare us for real life scenarios.

Im up. Nice and early. Got 1 hour before shooting light.

Tucked up in a back corn of a marsh. On a trail that connects 2 bodies of land. Super quiet morning and no wind. Should hear a deer coming from a mile.

    Good luck all!

Oh and this is my first official whitetail morning hunt. Season has been in for 2 months and haven't sat a morning til today.

Already have deer moving all around me. Unfortunately its out in the marsh cattails. Most likely wont come out of that. But good to have deer close in case there is chasing. 40 minutes til light
