Decent hunt tonight. Drew back on a doe when I tried to stop her she bound off straight away about 15yds looking back at me and never presented a shot. Deer were in and out of the golden rod most of the night. Right before last light a buck came out I think it was a 6pt. He went down the hill.

Love those guys. Had 1 go between my legs about a month ago. Picked it up and made my daughter hold it. Shes afraid of snakes, but these are the perfect ones to hold, so calm.

I’m back at the house. I heard deer but didn’t see any.

I’m going to hunt that one more morning sit and then back out of there for a while.

I’m tempted to drop off that point and slaughter one or two of the does that are always walking the bottom edge of the drop-off.

Now it’s supposed to rain starting about 10:00 am tomorrow so the morning sit could be good.

No luck. It wasn’t actually 8-10” more like 5”. Trailed it for 300yds before we lost blood. Definitely hit him in the shoulder.

I sat in the wind from 12:30pm til dark and saw no deer, on Halloween!! Wind gusts got up to 30-40mph at times, but at least there were some calm periods too. I did see two good size trees get blown over though. Doing an all day sit tomorrow, supposed to be much less wind.
