Now I'm second guessing myself and feel like I need to ride back in there to see if I jump buzzards there where they were roosted. The ones that flew off the roost knew I was there for sure. Still, only a couple flew over while I was there. I assume with their vision they would see me still there and I guess it is possible that he worked his way back around and we didn't see him the next morning. He would have had to be close to me this morning if that's the case.
Hunt here in MN tonight/tomorrow then heading back to ND to try and fill my tag. Anything will be fair game out there as I likely won't get another chance to go back before the end of the year.
Years ago I shot a good buck and he ran straight away from me up a hill… I followed blood and grid searched for hours after giving up… three weeks later, the farmer told me other hunters found my buck (He had pictures) . The buck ended up behind my stand about eighty yards … I didn’t believe it was the same buck until he showed me the picture…. You just never know. Why the farmer didn’t call me … it was a week and the buck was rotting… i told him I would have tagged it … he apologized and told the other hunters they could have the head Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
The other evening I said that a couple good buddies killed down in MO on our annual trip. They’ve got a few days left and 3 guys left to fill tags. Here’s a picture of the 2 that killed.
That's funny! I actually do try to get to sleep by 8:00pm (it is tough) when I'll be doing an all day hunt, or any kind of morning hunt.
Rain just stopped, heading in for the evening! They should really be moving since the very heavy rain we've had probably kept them bedded. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Good luck! I’ve seen a couple moving in the lighter rain we’ve been having this afternoon. That’s just driving around seeing them on their feet
Met a young hunter out here. There is a big creek cross you have to drive through to get here. About 5 mins after I parked a truck comes up. We share info and it looks like we were both thinking two specific ridges. We each agreed to stay out of each other's way. Back to the creek cross...notice this young guy is soaking wet on his legs and he told me he helped a guy who had dumped his motorcycle in that creek crossing. LOL...I gave the young hunter some dry socks and we walked in together. Good dude.
Im up. Same thing, rain stopped and i had time to do a hunt. Trying a new to me public land. Never hunted here before. Have walked a couple sections, but not were im at. Another 1hour 30 minutes hike. Going to have to be a monster to shoot back here. Good luck all Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
