back out this evening, hoping for another doe before next week really kicks off the rut Sent from my SM-S918U1 using Tapatalk
You'd think that but the way he swung hard away from me it could have hung up on brisket bone and worked out on the run. I once shot a buck with my regular bow. 21 ", arrow mind you. It was perfect broadside, actually close to where this aiming was last night. That buck went on a wild run up hill away from me with some arrow fetching hanging out. He made a huge loop and came back past me headed in the direction he came from. Dropped 170 yrds away. When I got to him the broad head and only 3 inches of arrow were sticking out of his left ham. The rest of shaft was still intact inside the length of him. Oh I forgot to say... I have zero idea how it happened, but that broad head missed guts and intestine on it's travel through him. I was expecting a smelly mess when gutting and got a pleasant surprise!
Im 18 feet up. 53 degrees 6 mph east wind. Gust 13 I bumped 2 deer bedded in head high goldenrod. Trying to sneak in here
If given the chance I will take the first deer presented to me as long as it’s not small. The weatherman says possible up to 2 inches of rain tomorrow. That would make a good day to grind burger in the garage.
In the swamp. Getting in much easier this time. Racoons or other critters have a path through the cattails along the drainage and the water seems to have lowered. Good luck everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If he is, he hid well for I spent 71/2 hrs looking for him, tracking with no blood trail save a 100 ft of drips and dots. BTW ,too that , I made a lot of safety discoveries. I have lost my only and great elevated blind due to popplar top snapped and I have a 12" diameter x 10 ft widow maker hanging over the center of blind. My ladder stand is now against a very dead tree. My only cleared path down center of land is blocked by not one, but 3 giant dead beech. Then there are all the other uprooted or dead fallen and hung up massive trees. Did find though, on a good note, a slew of spruce and white pine saplings.
Adam - that's a sweet video BHU - well done on a great buck Bearlick - awesome shooting coyote with bow...it's tough to do OND - sorry you didn't find the buck. Good effort
Good luck to all those getting out the next few days. I will not make it back out til Saturday evening at the earliest. However, I will be keeping tabs on here!
Contemplated if I wanted to post this or not. Went to loosen the straps on my stand to adjust it slightly… got both buckles pushed and the straps loosened but realized the teeth are growing into the tree. Can’t move the stand (this is one of my permanents). Straps are fine I tightened them back up but I’m not sure how I’m going to get the teeth out. I yanked and yanked and it wouldn’t budge. I loosened the straps last year but must not have realized the teeth were going into the tree. Dummy move. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
