Coffee in hand, headed to track for a bit and grid search a loop that I think he might have traveled back on. Was going to bring my Ole girl out but she woke up super sore and could barely get in the truck so I left her at home
At last light I shot a doe 20 yards out broadside. Not much shot angle - hunting on a hill. I see my knock sticking out of her as she moaned and ran off. She went 30 yards through grass, then entered corn for 40 yards. While running down a row, I could see blood on both sides. When she came out of the corn she took a right. Decent blood to start, but quickly slowed. I tracked her about 160 yards. Headed in to look.
I came to this stand this morning because of the stated wind direction. But since I've been in here it's blown from about every direction possible. At this point I don't think I'll see anything. Grrrr! Sent from my SM-S916U1 using Tapatalk
Entrance on right, broke backside leg. Didn't hit lung or heart. When I got there, there were birds 220 yards from last blood. I could see her laying in a mowed path. Thank you Lord for a quick recovery this morning.
@INbowhunter it sounds like your buck is a gut entrance with liver exit based upon the corn and blood pics. It should be dead after sitting overnight. Go slow and be patient. Good luck! Congrats @tdk5525
Well after whining about the wind in my last post, I had three does come from my downwind side. They were never close enough for a shot and I think they eventually caught my scent, because they left Sent from my SM-S916U1 using Tapatalk
