Still waiting to see what parcel I got drawn for on the lake hunt. Said if not received by mid October to contact them and they would remail it. Hoping to get it a lot sooner than that.

Can't set foot on the property until Dec. 16 which is a Tuesday and won't be hunting until that Friday.

Have 4 reveals that I am going to take there after work on the 16th and hopefully gind a few good trails to monitor. Will have 60 hours worth of intel to decide whether it is evening or morning or hopefuply both. Bad part about it, some of the areas are next to residential areas where they get away with feeding and putting out mineral/salt blocks for the deer. DNR for some reason will do nothing about it, yet if a hunter were to donsuch they would throw the book at them.

Hoping I don't get the maple acres area as that is the worst one for it, but for some reason have a feeling that is where I'll get put.

Holt checking in for evening shift. Can believe another season is upon us!

Back in the area i shot buck last early season. Conditions are almost the same. Few good bucks in the area. Also came across a dead buck along a drainage. 20250905_151622.jpg

First deer of the season spotted, literally. A fawn just walked by at 10 yards.

It was just slightly smaller then the deer posted above, haha!

I got 15 minutes left, but so dark i cant see my pins, so getting down soon. The deer were filter in and out for a hour. Hard to tell if same deer or different ones. Know there were at least 7 seen this evening. Not bad for first sit. Off to the next spot to find that big buck.

Good morning LFTS!!! I’m up and heading south for day , changed my plans a bit. Have a feeling the public is going to be pretty crowded this morning so dad and I are giving the private land a crack. Cameras haven’t showed anything crazy antler wise but have a good amount of does working through the area. They are also calling for storms this afternoon so we are going to throw down some seed for the foodplot. Hoping for some good movement before this weather system moves in! Good luck out there today!

This private piece is sooo thick. Can’t see very far at all. I do have a mock scrape set up at twenty-six yards that they have been hitting pretty regularly!

That’s it for day two, no deer sighted. Got the weeds trimmed and threw down some seed for our foodplot, nasty storms coming in this evening with a couple inches of rain. I’ll be back at it next Saturday
