Ok guys, not an LFTS post, but since this thread gets a lot of traffic, I figured I'd post it here. Supposedly this guy from Ohio shoots this buck and says it's free range. Then he says he also has last years sheds. I know some bucks can pack on serious inches but I don't see this being the same buck from the pervious sheds. What do you all think! different deer .... could be same gene pool as the right side palmation shows on both ....
I have sheds from different deer/same property that have same characteristics thru the years ..

Hey folks. Don’t post here often so please let me know if this is out of place. I shot the biggest buck I’ve ever shot today and I’m confused about what happened afterwards. I moved a stand today to accommodate the wind direction and then hunted it this afternoon. Around 6:10 this buck (one of the biggest on my property) bumped some does into the field before turning and walking my way. He stopped at 15 yards, broadside, and I put what I thought was a perfect shot on him. I have lighted nocks and still can see distinctly in my mind where that arrow disappeared into him. Now I’m well aware that shots can be deceiving but my wife was with me and we both thought he was a dead deer. He kicked, ran 100 yards, stopped, stood for 30 seconds or so and then laid down. After a minute or two he stood up, moved ten feet and laid down again. Another buck came over and was sniffing him, nudging him and walking circles around him and he stood up again and then stood there without moving till dark about 15 minutes later. He’s in the middle of a wide open cut corn field. He never hunched, and never walked off. Just stood there with his head lowered and legs slightly splayed out. I cautiously retrieved my arrow and there was blood at point of impact. Arrow is covered in blood albeit not the super light frothy lung blood but also not terrible dark (see image) The arrow also did not stink at all. At this point I’m planning on waiting till morning but I’m looking for a little consolation here…Will I find him in the morning? Obviously I’m pretty torn up as he’s a big boy. Just thot I’d put this out there to see how it strikes you all. Sorry about the long epistle…

I really hope you find your buck. I agree with entropyfx, it looks and sounds like a liver hit. And if it is, he will be dead. Let us know what you find when you go back out. Good luck to you!

Absolutely sounds like a liver hit. That Deer was dead with 3 hours in my opinion
