That's it. I'm out. Nothing more seen. It was awesome to get out today. Now I know that I can hunt with this gimpy leg by myself if I'm careful. May try to get out tomorrow evening and give it a go again.

Big cold front just moved through... Barometric pressure above 30 for the next 2 days. Feels like they should be moving tonight. We will see.

Yeah, I found her. She only went about 40 or 50 yards. No pictures today, just shared the moment with my nephew and my other best friend which is my brother-in-law‘s brother.

I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t extremely hard to wake up and go this morning, but it is exactly what I needed. As I was taking care of her and getting her ready for the cooler, I let my nephew go through my trail camera pictures. I heard him say whoa, and then a very loud and excited “ Uncle Mitchell, you need to try to go get that buck tonight”. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do, I hope to be back on standby about 4 o’clock this evening.

    Congrats Mitch!

I got down around 11 am. I can’t believe I didn’t see anything after all the deer on camera there the past two days. I se up 15 yards from it, everyone of those deer would have been under 20 if I had been there. Oh well, that is why it is hunting and not grocery shopping.

I scouted until about 1:30, marked some trees for my son for next weekend’s youth rifle hunt. The scrape where I missed a big 8 point last year was worked within the last couple of days. He either made it from last year or another mature buck has moved into his area.

Checked the card at my camera by the pond. Now I have thise to go through.

I'm up and ready to go. Seems like a perfect evening to kill a nice buck!

Back in for the evening hunt. This will be my last sit for a bit, lots of family things going on and actually got promoted last Friday, luckily they were cool with the PTO I already had in the books.

While on other side of property had 2 bucks and several other deer on cell camera at this location (same set up I shot my doe out of yesterday morning)

image.jpg I’m up, back at the water hole on the property. A few new scrapes on the way in and they are working the mock scrape too. Good luck everyone

Moved this stand yesterday. Have a perfect NW wind but got busted getting into the stand (busted from the SW so they shouldn’t have smelled me). I’m probably too close to the bedding.

3 sticks up a small dying tree with a tiny buckthorn as my cover. Have a thick wall of buckthorn behind me for back cover.

I’m up for the afternoon in another new spot across the road on another neighbor’s property. I’m actually only 190 yards from my house.

I’m sitting by a small pond on a hillside.

I put my son in a spot I’ve really wanted to hunt but needed permission to cross another neighbor’s property to access, which I got.

I hope he has a little luck this evening.

After a struggle session with a lock on, I'm finally settled in. Maybe I didn't get busted just yet. On a great travel route between ditches a point with a bench and creek below me. Wind isn't the best but it is at least blowing my sent away from the deer. Hope that holds. I expect to see something before the thermals switch. It is fairly open to the creek from here. I expect a staging situation. Idk. Just making it up as I go
