I had to add to it. This is horrible with the temp at 70. I suppose if I heard one coming in the woods I’d have a chance but that baking sun is one of the things that’ll make me say “screw this”.

I do have an umbrella I could bring.

I keep catching myself peeking around the camo hanging there to watch the grass field and I realize how stupid it is. I don’t have a chance if it happens.

I estimate about 30 minutes before the oven is turned off.

Rains got heavy starting at 5pm. Will rain until 12a.m. then start again at 8 a.m. . I'll think about going in morning.
I had to jerry rig a fix on my cross bow. As you know the stocks are a molded "plastic" and part of that is a sling "clip" well the rear one snaped off. So I took a key ring and heavyduty tape and taped the ring securely to the stock. Worked perfectly. The bow is, really pretty old over 15 yrs. Hubby wanted to drill a hole and use a screw in swivel. I declined because the break looked " brttle" that made me nervous as to a stock crack if drilled. So he said go buy a new one. No I'm too dang old to be out buying a new 3-4 hundred low end bow. This still shoots great. And has a new trigger assembly and new strings last year.

Back at the house. Greg saw nothing. Technically, neither did I.

I had my bow hanging on a Realtree EZ hanger most of the sit. The last 30 minutes I thought it would be a good idea to put it in that bow holder what's-it thingy that's molded into the Lone Wolf Alpha since I was sitting down. I thought it would be quick, easy no movement grabbing of the bow.

About 10 minutes before end of legal light I heard a buck coming. You know the sound. He was coming out of thick cover and was going to hit the field around 10 yards to my left. He was probably 15 yards away and I was fighting to get my bow out of that stupid holder. I tried and tried and it finally came loose and the cam "tinked" against the aluminum. That was all she wrote.

He froze and then a couple seconds later tore off back into the woods. I know he couldn't see me but he didn't want to find out what made that sound.

He could have been a spike or he could have been a 12 point. I have no idea.

    Who remembers Hee Haw?
"Gloom, despair, an agony on me.
    Deep dark depression excessin' misery.
If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.
Good, despair, an agony on me."

    I need a beer.

Not a single deer this evening. Dead silent minus the squirrels and chickadees.

Things should pick up here by the time you arrive. We've been seeing deer but most of the time only the first and last hour of light.

Depending on where you are, west of Ohio should see the barometric pressure going off the charts. Friday should really be a great day. That should be here in Ohio on Saturday. Great time to be hunting for sure, and I will be!

I have yet to see any deer in my last 11 evening sits (33 hours). But, I did get 4 different bucks on cam, mostly at night, so they're around. AND, it's the 8pt I've been watching since August that made the two scrapes I found yesterday in front of my cam, which is just 30yrds from the tree I've been hunting from.
Apparently, me leaving my climber locked to the base of my tree hasn't bothered the deer. The last week of Oct and the first week of Nov are the red hot in my area. CAN'T WAIT!!!!

NebMo....Great shot! Glad she made it easy on you.

Early in - those are long tines!

I'll get up in the morning and check the rain. It rained all day today and was blustery.
