Sounds like you had no choice but to wear that head net, smart man! I've heard those Thermacells really do a good job, would you agree?
I 100% agree. The walk out was something out of a movie. “Attack of the mosquito” Debating whether to go back in tomorrow or not. Kind of a downer 2 others are in there and with the bugs. We did get this right as we left. Me and the random guy walked by this at about 9. Might head north might stay. We will see what the Busch lites decide tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How did the Busch go down. Good luck. I would have sent an arrow at that doe, I understand why you didn’t. Good patience
Packed up shop. Those other hunters were in there at 6 and 830 this morning. Too much pressure and too many bugs made our decision a bit easier. Moving from the ND/SD border 4 hours north to the ND/Canada border to our old stomping grounds. We have a piece that was crazy good 2 years ago… but there might be cattle in it. We have to go look. Will have to be after I get back from WY. He won’t score well, but should help fill the freezer. I’ll put a short clip on IG, he’s already on edge.
Our spot seems to have cows in it… think we are still going to sit on the oaks and see what happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just locked up 270 acres of private just down the road. Both of us hunting the only bean field in the area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I killed this non-typical back in 2006. He looks very similar to your buck, minus a broken G3 tine. I actually called him in using the Can call.
Can hear acorns dropping behind me. Kind of worried that the deer will be focused on those. Set up in a little popple thicket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hey everyone. Just got caught up. First post this year. Been a rough year. Some of you may know or not know that I fell out of a tree on July 4, about 20ft. I broke 3 ribs and my left shoulder is messed up. I haven't shot my bow since then and I haven't checked my NJ cameras. On my VT cameras I have some Doe and Bear. I've since bought a better linemans belt and life lines for every stand I have. I should be able to get my VT stands set up before the October 1 opener. As for NJ, I probably won't get to hunt there till the third weekend of October so Ill set everything up when I get there. The ribs are healing up pretty good. The shoulder still hurts and I'm gonna see a sports med doc next week. I did shoot some arrows today. It appears that I can but I'm a little shaky. May be the shoulder or may be that I havent shot in a few months. I'll keep shooting and hopefully be up to par by late October. I usually head to NJ in early September but to much mowing to do and firewood to cut before winter comes. Great pigs Chief! See ya all out there soon enough.
Scouted a ton today trying to locate the oaks deer are focusing on. Couldn’t find a single feed tree. Seems every oak is dropping right now. Going to sit on the beans like we did last night and pray. Last hunt in ND before heading home tomorrow morning. 7 1/2 hour drive home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So sorry to hear this. I'm very glad you're here to talk about it. I'm praying you heal completely and have a great season.
Sorry to hear about that. After falling from twenty and being able to talk about it, I'd say the Lord was watching out for you that day. Truly blessed!
