Almost looks like a wildfire! Or, is it? Great pic either way.

Had deer all over me when I got down. Might try that spot again peak rut when some leaves are down.

Had a doe at about 60yds. Wouldn’t come out of the willows. Somehow spooked my wind was absolutely perfect. Had 2 does at 291 yards… 6.5 hitting good out to 300 but I’m not taking that shot on a deer.

Had a knot in the middle of my back all day… stepped off the last step of the blind and it felt like someone stabbed me. I almost fell to my knees it hurt so bad.

We will definitely be out every morning this week unless it rains like they're forecasting later in the week.

Tomorrow through Wednesday will be the best days of the week with Tuesday being the peak of the new moon. We are considering an all day sit Tuesday. It's awfully early to sit all day but with the sudden drop in temps it might be worthwhile.

I didn't see anything this afternoon. I had deer walk behind me but it was way to thick to see them.

Greg had a good buck walk the other old logging road behind him but couldn't even tell how big it was.

It's cooling off and it's warming up!

Had a great night. No shooting. 5 minutes after getting in stand, a doe and twins were out in the field. Later I had 2 does and a fawn headed my way. Doe at 27 yards, big tree in between us, I am ready to draw when she walks out the other side...waiting...waiting....finally peak around the tree and she's at 50 yards and feeding away. Dang. Ended up seeing a few other deer. The 2 nearest stands to me....could have shot does out of.

Just my opinion - Oct 20...it's on like Donkey Kong. Get out every moment you can!!!:woot:

Tomorrow I will be checking cams, making a mock scrape by my favorite stand and the corn piles will get some fresh corn on Tuesday. Wednesday night is my last night of work. I'll have 16 of the next 18 nights off, only working the nights of the 30th and 31st. I'll be back on the stand Thursday evening and will be hitting it hard in that time frame. I hope this ole body can handle the grind!

First one of these I think I’ve ever got on cam in like 10 years of running cams.
