Sat until 12, good buck hit the field walking right by my field spot tree, of course I was 70yards in the woods.
I should have went out between 9-3, all the deer came out as I was walking and driving out.
Oh well, gonna dry off and come up with plans.

Geez Louise...went to check trail I leaf blew yesterday HUGE beech branch did a pile dive right in the middle of my trail. Took a struggle to pull it out of the ground.2x my height and 11/2 my height in width.
Why I don't hunt in winds. Tomorrow they calm but we have rain starting at 6 tonight lasting right through to 1 p.m. tomorrow. 20 degree temp drop so I may hit a blind I
in the morning. High winds then an all night rain may just have them, deer and turkey moving in daylight.

I’m all set up. Just enough wind and moisture to get back into the thick mess. Last year i hunted here on a morning and was loud as an elephant I feel like and still saw deer so I’m hopeful for this sit. Might try a light rattle in about 200 yards deeper in then where I shot my doe opening weekend. Good luck everyone!

We’re out. Nothing seen from our blind.

My in-laws were both in a blind on the other side of the property and had a small bachelor group of 3 come by at about 10am. A button, a fork n horn, and a little 4 point (an 8 point to the rest of the country). MIL shot at the 4 point but missed.

Didn't hunt this AM, was pouring until 30m after dawn and cams proved that to be the right choice.

I'm up now, finished setting up my stand move to the other side of the plot, that I started yesterday, I really like my new setup, many more shot options and less chance of getting snuck up on.

Wind is ripping at 10-20 from N/NW , ideal for this location. Hoping my #1 makes this plot his happy hour choice again tonight (moved the stand you see to behind the cam)

I’m back in the same tree. It’s the only tree I can get in to have shots in this spot. This morning was my first sit and it wasn’t bad.

I got here about 20 minutes ago, looked up and sighed. I am gonna be sitting with full sun on my face for at least an hour.

Climbed up, reached into my pack for my face mask and my release fell to the ground. I said a colorful word and then remembered I have another identical one as a backup in my pack.

So, I’m all set up baking in the sun for a while.

I didn't hunt yesterday or this morning due to 2-3 inches of rain.

The rain is just ending. Got up a tree at 525, hours to hunt. Less than 5 minutes later, 100 yards out, there was a doe and twins working away from me in corn picked on Friday.

Nice NW wind. Never shot a deer from this stand. Only had opportunities on small bucks here. Hopefully another doe comes near.

    Dnoodler- stud buck!
