Neither my grandson or myself saw any deer. I will be back at it in the morning!

I'm not sure what's changing here but it's changing. This is my third sit in a row seeing deer and my son's second.

We both got pinned in our tree for about 15 minutes this evening. He had a buck and another deer close and couldn't climb down. I was in the process of climbing down a few minutes early when I heard one coming. I can't say how big it was, but it was a buck. I could see its silhouette
walking by at about 30 yards. He stopped and I could hear him scraping. I just stood there five feet off the ground while he eventually walked away. While I was waiting he texted me asking for help because he was pinned. I replied that I couldn't because I was pinned too.

My son drew on a doe but as he drew the doe "tripped", kicked up a limb that hit its stomach and it scared it. She bolted about 20 yards and he had no shot.

Something tells me it's just going to get better as the new moon approaches and the cold front comes in.

    It's exciting.

finally got out to check 3 stand tree locations .. first time on the place since July when all my health issues started .. warm, so one one was out mid morn/ early afternoon no skeeters but the eye gnats were bad .. ... why walk at the local park, when I can walk 2-3 miles and check stands, its not that strenuous ... ;0) .. I'll be going back tomorrow to check 2-3 more .. still looking for Halloween weekend to be back up a tree .... shot the bow a tad yesterday, Ive lost some conditioning, it will come back in time... it felt great to be back out, if just walking/scouting and pissin' :nana: ...

So up and check out side to rain at 5a.m.
Open weather app to see this wonderful change...not.
I have to prioritize and work has won. May be out tonight seeing frost is due. Also winds, ya, winds 10-20mph. As you know that makes my woods a no go zone.. Getting crushed by a tree or pile driven by a limb isn't a goal.
Good thing I decided to take that doe...her meat balls were delicious, not to mention the straps as well.
Rains will be a morning or evening thing a couple of days and all day a few. So we'll see. I may have to check out camp this coming week. Winds are not an issue down there as far as safety is concerned.

October 15th has always been a amazing day for me. Seen so many big bucks over the years and when i had trail cameras, would regularly get pics of big bucks. Wish i was out there today. Hopefully i get out before the weekend. Starting to get the itch again to chase another buck.

    Good luck guys

I’m in the blind, cloudy drizzly 45 degrees, light east wind. Good luck everyone.

I seen the same thing. I will probably go hunting before work if weather holds true. Should be a great morning in stand.

Cloud cover is now overhead but no rain is expected. Still no action yet.

I’ve been in my stand since 40 minutes before first light and I haven’t even seen or heard a squirrel.

    Weird.

I feel your pain. Not a single sighting. With that said, my cameras are really blowing up at night and movement is creeping closer to daytime. I'm also out. Not sure if I'll get back out before my vacation starts or not. If I do it will be Sunday/Monday. Vacation starts next Thursday!

In WI we've had our 2 target bucks up during daylight probably 5 out of last 7 days.

Seems like every year no matter which week we pick to hunt in early-mid October is the wrong week.

    Cell cams are the devil.
