    Mmm chanterelles, it’s been a weird fungus year in Pa. Far and few between, hit the morels pretty good but not like years past, can’t find any chanterelles, did get a haul of chicken of the woods while checking cams the other day tho. Any who back to beers n pens game.

    Nothing better than watching The Hunting Beast to get you fired up. Man I love that guy and the way he does things. Takes his boots/socks off and stalks through swamps in November here in the midwest.

    Not much to make me more proud. Two shooter bucks in daytime. Opening day is going to be a blast.

    Wife and child went out of town for the weekend, might get up to Illinois and scout the public area. Going to check my local cams and maybe put up some sticks. Should be a productive weekend...TN velvet hunt will be here soon.

    I had to go get a duplicate tag this morning (mine got lost moving) and the season starts Monday morning. I think we are tent camping to minimize what we're bringing in and it also frees us up to move mid-week. I'll be out there Sunday afternoon.

    Yea being deployed for 7 months during shed season I didnt expect to find any getting prep work done for this season.
