Scouting is on hold for a little while,. Daughter is getting married next Saturday 6/27. Hard to believe 22 and a college graduate, newly employed and married soon. Wow

Took the kids fishing today by a swamp I scouted this past off season. Big mature buck with a great looking rack ran across the street right in front of my truck on the swamp edgeline. Mental note taken.

Im definitely starting to get locked in mentally. Going to throw one more cam out in a couple weeks on a lake spot then will pull all 3 cams in early August. Brand new areas for me and I am excited to see what is moving out there.

Well I am back. Glad to be back from deployment. Ready to hang stands and pull cameras that have been out for the last 6-7 months. Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm done with any scouting for now. Started working out again to try and get into better shape. Haven't done anything in over 7 years. I'm going to try and sit a bean field or 2 in the first week of September to try and locate a early season buck. Have had really good luck with this tactic.

Thanks guys. Really pumped for this season. I need to get out soon though to trim shooting lanes and hang some stands. I need to rotate cameras around too.

Slugger I'm interested to see what your long term cameras have shown. Who survived. When antlers dropped and then started growing again. Movement patterns...etc

I'll be checking my cams on Monday. They will have been in for 2 weeks, so I'm hopeful. Get to see how my new Browning Strike Force performs. I'd love to see this guy again. It's the buck I put a bad shot on and he showed up again in the same exact area a week later.

For sure. Once I get out there and pull them I know I had 4 cameras in good spots. Would be cool to see what it looks like over a 6-7 month soak. I will keep you posted once I get to them.

Went fishing today on one of my hunting spots. Deer were all over the place. Saw two mature bucks together. One of them looks like a legit shooter. Saw a 3rd unknown. Looked to have some mass but slipped away before I could see him.

Took some pics of the animals that werent real bright and also caught 10 bass.
