Going out at noon I’ll post some pics when I get back tonight. Lots of walking today maybe even a shed or two the. One more go around on the private land since more snow has melted!

my buddy just found this today when he went up to shed hunt/scout his Wisco property... right off the road on his easement. Guessing someone shot it and dumped it there; his easement is at the top of a T intersection.

...not a coyote in case anyone was wondering

Hoping to get out and do a little scouting in a new area at some point this week! Working from home so I have about 40 extra minutes of daylight to get out and scout, have a few areas pinned from some members on here that I want to check out!

I got out today for a few hours on some public land fairly close to the house. I found a lot of good trails, a ton of rubs and scrapes and a couple buck beds. I might just have to give it a try. It would be pure hell trying to get a deer out of there so it would have to be the right deer. 1FF1D5A7-98A9-4875-A949-05191DE4CF5D.jpeg BE870251-7A75-4FA2-9AA5-3B132994D492.jpeg BF8394B6-0C3C-4DF0-9E83-82B4B975480A.jpeg F074B090-C5CD-489F-8122-6B4D273ADF37.jpeg E88991B6-E83C-49AD-B646-836DCB3BAD3F.jpeg 1FF1D5A7-98A9-4875-A949-05191DE4CF5D.jpeg

Went scounting looking for turkey sign and found a place thats gonna be a lot of fun during deer season i think. A whole bunch of valleys come together and the middle ridge is a nice gentle sloping oak flat, found lots of bedding too.

Gonna walk this piece in the morning. With 10” of snow yesterday and the red river already on the verge of flooding I hope I can get in there!

Well walked out to the throat of that property and waters already flowing over it will have to wait till the river goes back down but from the looks of it it won’t be for a while

20200406_172342.jpg 20200406_170134.jpg 20200406_161617.jpg Day 14. Drove a good while to a place I map scouted. First area looked great but had a ton of human sign. Walked a half mile to the east and the deer sign was pretty good. Walked right through the middle of a 30 acre or so briar patch from hell. Picked up some nice 5.5 inch long tracks which usually indicate a good buck around here. Tracks took me close to a small swamp and I found one tree to hunt out of in the fall.

I know it's only April but every time I see this thread pop into the recent post/activity section I swear it says Official 2020 Scoring Thread

That said, I'll be on my first spring turkey hunt in a week and 4 days. Also going to be spending some time actually scouting the property.

Still have some marked up spots suggested by VS last season and what better time to check them out than, when busting a deer out or leaving some scent, will have little impact.

Keep my out for some morels as well

I have been out to a 500 acre chunk of public a couple times in the past two weeks, but I don't really know what to think. The best spot is only 60 yards off the main road and the next best sign is about 120 yards from the parking lot. Stands left up absolutely everywhere. I think I'm just going to move on...

This guy left a cheapie harness for anybody who hunts his stand. Pretty cool!

Seemed to have lost my bag of SD cards I've acquired over the years. 5 new cards ordered. Hope my old cards will show up sooner or later.
