Going to hunt our place this morning. Bur Oaks are dropping acorns. Coolest morning so far this season.
I'm with ya on that also. One of the guys in our group shot a nice doe a few years ago. It was a wooly a$$ place. We finally found what was left of her a day later. No where near where we thought she was. Turns out our issue was Bobcats. I have the yote issue at my in-laws place. It is right in town. I can't set in the deck with my rifle like I can at our place. I know losing one sucks Wesley. Sorry.
Thanks! I really like the shacket. I was torn between it and just getting a Stratus Vest, but I heard good things about this, and I feel like is a bit warmer to me.
Have bobcats as well...didn't even think about them...they were screaming opening morning....about made me need a new pair of shorts it was so loud and close.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All set up in Ohio. Still waiting to see a deer of any kind while in my stand. Jumped one on my way in though so I know there is at least one here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good luck everyone. It would be a great morning to be out. 40* here but I'm heading to work instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just getting ready to get dressed. Won't have this flood light on in the stand until day-break. Good Luck everyone!
30 degrees and I'm staying home. Nothing to do. Decided to hold off on this mornings hunt. The only good stand I have for these winds is on the corner of a bean field. The only way in is to walk the edge. No way am I about to blow the deer out of there this morning, this early in the season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just got busted by two doe. Came in down wind of me.. Heard som leaves rustle, then one of them blew, and I almost crapped myself... Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know that feeling all to well. As for me it's 37 degrees out, dead still, quiet, and just perfect big buck weather.......and I have yet to see a deer. Last night I saw just 2 does. Slow start to the year though. I have yet to see a buck on hoof.
Man I've been in your shoes too many times. Once I shot a doe and tracked her all the way to my front yard and it simply stopped there.
Been the tree for almost 2.5 hours and nothing here but squirrels. Perfect morning 50 degrees wind in my face just waiting on the deer Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just got back in. Pheasant season started today, so at sunrise about 6 cars pulled in to the WMA I was on. I was set up in a strategic location, and they did push a pretty nice muley past me. Of course I only have an antlerless white tail tag.
