Nothing as good as Terry's story but I did end up seeing 9 does/fawns at the new place.

I saw around 25 today. One good buck but when I couldn't draw. Had way too many eyes on me. I was ground hunting.

sorry for the delay guys. I found him only 100yds from my stand. he dropped about where I lost sight of him. double lunged him. I gave him plenty of time because you never know. he is an 8 pt around 130". I didn't measure him. when we got back home the truck read 9 degrees. that's when we figured we had better skin and quarter him up right away or he will be a solid block of ice in the morning. that is what took so long to get back to update you guys. this buck is the bigger of the buck pics I posted the other day. he is just shy of 18' wide inside and has 8" tines. for January 7th when bucks are shedding like crazy I feel very fortunate to have taken him so late in the game.

I did notice that there was still some dried hard velvet stuck to the tips of a few of his tines. pretty cool!

thank you for all the nice comments guys. boy am I paying for that long drag out last night. I think every part of me is sore this morning. definitely worth it. I'm glad I took care of him last night because it is a balmy 5 degrees out right now. I might try to get more pics today in the snow with better light. good luck to all still at it! i'll be taking my buddy that still has a buck tag this week.

    Nice buck, congrats.

Just a reminder to others its not too late, but if anyone else gets lucky have to remember not to drag them out by the antlers.
