congrats Cm! awesome to see a buck still fall as it is getting later. Charles I think I would go out tomorrow and wander around looking. you still may find that deer. look along any creeks or ditches. bedding 50 yds apart is very close. sounds like gut shot to me. check out about 75 yds from last bed and grid search from there out. gut shot sometimes takes 24 hours or so. the key is that she feels like she would rather lay down than run or walk. she will be dead in the morning someplace. it's not over unless you want it to be. if you don't find her tomorrow then call it.
Congrats on the nice buck CM! I'm headed out for the stand. Sure was tough finding motivation to get out of that warm bed. Good luck guys.
Last day of season here in Montana. I'm taking the 7mm 08 this morning. Of course, if it is like the past 4 days I could have a sling shot and have just as much of a chance. Have I mentioned that I despise road hunters?
I ended up seeing 13 last night including one decent 8. I'm about 150 yards from the field. Nothing so far. Tons of fresh tracks all around me in the snow.
I'm hunting a tree line between two cut corn fields. I can see my blind about 300 yards away and of course there have been deer in front of it since daylight. Wind was wrong for that stand. Figures.
Cool crisp morning here in norther il. Two little does and a four pointer so far here lite breeze out of se
Hoping on a November miracle. I bumped a few does on the way in....hope one hasn't been bred yet and Mr Big comes in looking around this thicket. A man can dream.
Didn't see anything but my buddy saw 4 doe at 40 yds. This is his 3rd season of hunting and he is starting to become much more self sufficient and confident in the woods. He will be a good hunter one day.
Actually saw some tonight. For those out in the distance. And then 12 deer in the bean field as I left. Sent from my SM-G920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'll be out wit the rifle tomorrow for the PA rifle opener, then driving through the night back down to NC to get back after it with the bow! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
well I'm ready for the PA slaughter tomorrow. luckily the rut is about over so the bucks will be a bit smarter. every shot I hear my heart will be sinking a bit further wondering if my hitlisters are no longer. but I got to be in his home range to at least have a chance at him. I'm going to be sitting on a skinny ridge in a thicket about 30' up in my climber hoping to catch him sneaking around for cover. I can also see both draws on each side of me as well as the next ridge to my sides. any buck wanting to sneak up and down the ridges or draws are in trouble. bad part is I suck with a gun. later in the week when some of the pressure subsides i'll start going out with a bow but also taking a gun with just incase. wish I had a bulletproof vest for safety reasons. if you think I'm kidding come hunt PA on our opener.
I second that part lol I'm hoping my dad and I can get a parking spot at the public land we are heading to, I think where we are set up all the pressure will actually help tomorrow right in the thick crap Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
