Finally got caught up after being off here yesterday. Awesome buck Shane!! This has been a good year for you buddy!! Congrats!
It's going to be close to 80 the next 3 days, cold front coming in Friday, lows in the 30's, highs in the 50's...
Gonna be a lot of deer hitting the ground this weekend with the colder temps and rifle opening on Saturday...maybe the orange army will scare the big bucks back onto the property im hunting

Been sitting now for 6 hours and nothing for the last five. I'm looking for at least a good 8 pointer or fat nanny doe. These big bodied 4 and six pointers I saw first thing this morning got a pass - the lucky bastards

Well, another 7 hours in the stand with no deer. That's why it's called hunting and not going to the grocery store. I'm trying to stay upbeat but man.....

7 hrs on stand...nothing. on the walk out I noticed some idiot had driven a truck down this old grass trail. Right over a 1/2 mile scrape line into the bedding area. What a damn idiot.

So, I'm either getting old, tired, senile, or all three. I put my hunting clothes on at the camper and jump on the 4-wheeler for the mile ride to my spot. I get off and start walking to my stand and I'm thinking "something just doesn't feel right." I look down and it seems I forgot something. I really don't think the deer will mind too much. Oh well, what are you going to do?!?

Settled back in the tent blind with my son. Went home for some pizza for lunch. Unlike monster raxx we don't have delivery to our blind lol. Hoping they r moving tonight. My son is looking to shoot his first deer. He will be shooting a muzzleloader. Wish us luck
And good luck to those that are out

Well just got settled in for the afternoon. Had a good morning hunt so hopefully it continues. What I really hoping is that when I check my cams I'm not gonna be kicking myself for getting down at 10 only to have something walk by stand after. Oh well. Pretty nice day out, maybe not best for deer hunting but it's hard to believe it's middle of Nov, shoulda been getting this in Oct.

Good luck everybody, and Jim hopefully forgetting your boots will just mean you'll be comfortable dragging something out later.

This morning I got to the stand and noticed my left foot ( which is my bad one with Mrsa) was hurting more than normal. I just dealt with it and about 10 I noticed I only put 1 sock on in comparison to 2 on my right foot... lol This is why I need a checklist. pants ..check ha ha GOOD STORY Jim !!!!

Think I'm going to pass on this weekend. Lows in the 20's highs in the 30/40's and winds gusting to 40+.

Deer season was not a priority for mother nature this year

I'm on the edge of a nasty thicket. Had to go up 30'+ just so I can see and maybe get a shot off.

    Effin brutal......

How far away from central jersey are you? My 17 year old son and I are looking into the logistics of some public land hunting down there. 4 hour drive for us.

I've been talking to Vermont whitetail on this forum about it......three of us, me my son and you could team up. Cut down on costs.

Major hurdle is processing the deer, it would get expensive if we paid someone to do it, where could we do it on our own? I don't think the holiday inn would appreciate it if we did that in the parking lot!!!
