Well I got skunked tonight once again, getting discouraged. And these deer are too smart, checked stand Bs camera today after sitting in stand A of course there was a shooter under B at 7:30 this morning, didn't go out yesterday and there was an even bigger shooter and 4 does under stand B, went to stand B on Friday then got down mid day and checked stand As camera and there was a giant shooter there that morning. The chess game continues, good thing my dad comes down Friday and we can cover both stands and put one or two of these big bucks down

Not sure of your situation, but it might not be a coincidence. Maybe you are jumping them while you are walking in, just something to think about.

So what your saying is you need someone to come sit in whatever stand you don't pick? Haha

I know the feeling man, all to well. Have the same thing happen all the time.

wonder if it is possible the entire rut is taking place at night? I remember about ten years ago it happened. I was wondering all year when the rut was going to start and it never did. next thing I knew it was xmas and still no chasing or rut. just a thought.

Yes, yes I do. I didn't even bother to mention the neighbor to the west that was trying to bugle for, I have no idea what.

I'm wondering the same thing tc. There have been some good bucks killed around here but from what I've heard it's been the only buck they've seen.

Yes, I plan on doing a thread telling the story with better pictures. Sunday, I was busy trying to save the meat. I haven't had time yet to score the rack.

I dropped off my buck off at the meat processor Sunday morning. all bucks being turned in. mine was the biggest I saw and that's sad to say the least.

Holy Cow! I just got up. I thought for a minute I set the alarm wrong. That moon is bright, for a second I thought it was the sun breaking daylight.

I just looked at the extended forecast. Are they kidding? 75 now for Thursday? Crap!
I'll have to get my early season gear out.
I guess I'll catch up on some things around the house. That way when it gets cold I can be after them over food sources.

I thought about going back to work instead of burning these vacation days up. Then I thought it would be good just to hang out with the wife and the boys to do stuff.

We can both be out there discouraged together. The one thing for sure Pitman, it can only get better. Remember, the glass is half full, not half empty.
I'm battling the orange army in places that don't have the antler restriction so brown and down is the motto to most of our neighbors. Our neighbor to our west has the same thought as we do. Wait until they are big to shoot them. The problem with that is we only have 100 acres combined. We just have to hope that some get past the orange army. Hang in there and good luck!

I'm gonna try it again this morning. It's 35 degrees so surely something will be moving.
