We bumped 3 does on the way in and that was all we seen... sat for almost 2 hrs (around my 4 yr olds limit). Will see if he wants to hit it again for a evening sit, if not I will take the climber to the bottom.
Well ended up not having anymore sightings. Gonna head out grab a bite to eat and hopefully watch ND win a game before hitting the woods for the evening.
Man, had a doe with 3 fawns go by. Then 2 does came out of the corn, browsing about 50 yards from me. I keep looking for a bruiser to do the same. Wind is shifting though, might have to bail soon
Opening day today. At home with the kiddos so the wife can do her thing. Hoping to get out tomorrow evening. Watching bow hunt or die now! Good luck all who is out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had 3 doe and 2 button buck come through at 8am. Let the does pass. Probably the only time. Heading back out if it's not a downpour
I've never seen a tree like this one LOL I've got my trail marked. My game cart stashed, my climber stashed, set up a electric code blue dripper over one of the Bucks scrapes. I wore rubber gloves, covered my boots in ever calm, Took a leak in the scrape. Now for the long walk back to my car!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I held off on the squirrel. Good thing, cause an hour later I won a game of whack-a-doe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seen 5 does and a little six they all headed to my sons stand but didn't get a shot didn't come back shakin as bad as last yr he's headed back out this afternoon with uncle jay to get big buck they have been watching and I'm off sit other side of woods drizzly here opening day n il.
Out for the first sit of the year. Raining off and on. Supposed to clear up shortly. I came in and quietly hung my stand over this scrape i found a few weeks ago. Man is it tore up in here with giant rubs. Oh the sound of acorns dropping. Crap! That one almost hit me! Good luck to all!
Just got set up on some public ground. In a bottom with a young clearcut behind me. Liking this spot. A side note: that first mobile set up is always a treat. I need to figure some things out before my next sit.
Just had a button buck milling around beneath the stand. Doe was coming my way then cut into the standing corn before I could get a shot off Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Back at it this afternoon in VT. I'm in a hang on between two old logging roads that the deer are using. It's about 50 deg, overcast, light breeze blowing my sent up the hill and toward the field be hind me. Perfect wind for this stand. Hopefully ambush something cutting across the ridge to the field. Mountain hunting at its best. Good luck everyone!!!
