Squirrels are giving me a fit with these dry leaves in this wind.

 

Temps are dropping fast since I got here. Feeling good about these last 2 hours

Another buck entered the clearcut. The year of too far away in all directions.

 

I thought you had a buddy here in town. When ya gonna come hunt out here?

 

After getting a new set hung and seeing multiple bucks I cancelled my dinner plans and grabbed my gear. Not in the best location but I was only set up for 10 minutes before the spike came by.

2 hours left, think this may be my final sit until gun season. Not enough daytime cruising and probably have a few hunters here next 2 days

 

They must like the location.

 

Just got the text from my buddy he has the big 8 on the ground

 

I thought I'd try something different this afternoon. The deer aren't going along with it yet.

 

Had to go to work for most of the day but back out in the stand now. Going to try light rattling for first time in a couple years.

Got grandpa funeral over in time for some evening tree stand therpy. Much needed after today. Had a small 4 point come through the on edge of the bean feilds.

 

It's like someone flipped a switch and turned off the wind. Wait....never mind it's back. Come on!

 

Got about 15 minutes of shooting light left. Trying to find a reason to hunt tomorrow. Same wind up to 30 mph gusts, but a lot colder in the 20's....that windchill is gonna be rough... think his might be my last hunt of the season now

Yes. Couldnt come. He was begging. Hopefully next year.

 

1 hour until sunset. Somebody should let the deer know they can start moving anytime now.
