Wow, my dog woke me up to go outside and thankfully he did. Let him out and heard a weird hum, door on the freezer dowstairs had come open. Puddle of water on the floor. Luckily everything still frozen, just frosted over. This happened 2 summers ago and I lost a ton of deer meat, 20lb ham, alligator meat and a lot of trout and salmon. Not sure if it is the weight of meat in the door or it is going out. I'll check it before I leave to hunt in 3 hours. Might not be going today if it is the freezer. Ugh
I'm up....230. Let's do this!!! Happy Veterans Day to all my fellow vets. Hope today is my day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Couldn't fall back asleep, just checked freezer and all is well. Wedged a dresser against the door to keep it shut. Hitting the shower and then the road. Good luck today everyone, someone is going to put down something special...
on my way. I'm going to go to the clearcut I guess? today and tomorrow and that's it. with the poor rut I'm on auto pilot now. I gave up trying to out smart the creatures. just going with the flow now. trying to finish strong. three weeks of all day sits except for moving from stand to stand a few times, I'm finally wore out. hopefully now is when it will happen when I'm not thinking about it. good luck everyone!
Today is a day that a lot of big buck hit the ground every year! This is one of the best days around me to be in the woods. Good luck to you guys that are out today, I have a feeling one of you are going to get it done this morning!
All set up. 1 1/2 hours before sunrise. Bumped something big by my stand, bounced a few times, blew once and took off. The scrape in hunting over had some fresh pee in it, so hopefully a buck comes by to check it. THere are deer in these woods after all. Good luck everyone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good luck Joe! I'm rooting for you! The buck I shot yesterday was walking his scrape line. But he never went to the scrapes, he was running a small hidden trail 50 yards down wind of his scrape line parallel to it. He was a smart old bugger! You may want to look for a buck trail down wind of that scape.
Just pulled up to my lease...running a little behind, did not want to get out of bed...but I'm a trooper so here I am...breaking out the boonie hat today, need a change of luck.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
All set up in the tower blind by the cedar tree camera set. Got in about 2 hours before legal shooting. Going after the big 8 if he is still alive. Was trying to have a couple of the guys on the lease kill him because they haven't shot anything as big as him before and that hasn't gone very well. You know the old saying
Knock 'em down today boys. I'm sitting today out and getting ready for my trip to Ohio tomorrow. Good luck to everyone out and happy veterans day to all you vets. Thanks for your service. Blessings..........Pastorjim
Well tomorrow the orange army invades the woods. Hoping to get my tagged filled before then. Good luck
Heading from my vehicle pit to the the ground blind. Spraying some tinks, hanging a tinks bomb, and hoping a shooter list buck shows himself!
After about 10 morning sits this season, I finally made my goal time. 1 hour before legal light. This probably means i just sit here longer not seeing bucks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Woods have a different feel this morning, overcast 38 degrees, west wind 10 mph, something's gonna happen I can feel it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In stand 50 minutes before light. Had a stare down with green eyes, guessing a buck. Was by a scrapr, headlamp lit its eyes. I was 15yds from stand. I took a step, it took a step. I took another step, it took 2 towards me. Now about 35yds apart i started walking and it trotted into the woods. I'll admit, I chickened out and hust wanted to get in stand
Got set up in my climber an hr before light. Wasn't 5 minutes later I had to climb down to use the restroom. Bet I don't see anything now
